Children’s Theatre of Charlotte Hosts Auditions for SCROOGE 10/5-10/6September 23, 2010Children's Theatre of Charlotte will hold open auditions for 'Scrooge!' on Tuesday, October 5 and Wednesday, October 6, from 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm. The musical adaptation of 'A Christmas Carol,' 'Scrooge!' features all of the wonderful characters and spirits from Charles Dickens' classic tale. Professional roles are available for adult actors of varying ages who can sing and dance. Rowe, Simpkins, and Bienskie To Speak at Industry Night of THE FIX at NYU 10/4September 22, 2010Composer Dana P. Rowe, Director John Simpkins, and Actor Stephen Bienskie (recipient of a Helen Hayes Award for his performance in the 1998 production) will be participating in a pre-show discussion prior to the 10/4 performance of The Fix. The event will take place at New York University's Frederick Loewe Theatre on Monday, October 4 at 6:30 pm and will be held in conjunction with that evening's 8 pm performance. The pre-show discussion has no additional admission price, but a ticket for the 8pm performance is required. That evening is also 'Industry Night' at NYU's production. The general public is welcome - but anyone attending that presents a theatrical union card will be admitted free for any or all of the evening.

IU Organist Presents 'Seasons of Sebastian' Concert, 10/5September 21, 2010Commencing with a free concert at Auer Hall Oct. 5 at 8 p.m., Janette Fishell, chair of the Organ Department at Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music, will present 'The Seasons of Sebastian: The solo works of Johann Sebastian Bach,' a three-year cycle of 21 free, open-to-the-public Bach organ performances that take place at various locations on campus and churches in the Bloomington community. The works are organized into 'secular' -- the seasons of Bach's life, performed on the IU campus -- and the 'spiritual' seasons of his faith, performed at area churches, with some 'cross-pollination' to keep each concert as artistically significant as possible.
