Cameron Mackintosh's current touring production of Les Miserables will run at London's Barbican Theatre, it's English-language birthplace in 1985, for 22 performances through October 2, 2010. A Queens Theatre staple for nearly 22 years in the West End, this new run will mark the first time in London that the same musical has run simultaneously.

Zürich gedenkt seiner am 17. Oktober mit einem „Sonntag für Christoph Schlingensief'. Das Schauspielhaus, an dem er seit 2001 mehrfach inszenierte, das Theater Neumarkt, an dem seine Koproduktion mit dem Schauspielhaus „Unsterblichkeit kann töten. Sterben lernen! (Herr Andersen stirbt in 60 Minuten)' gezeigt wurde, sowie die Zürcher Galerie Hauser & Wirth, die Werke des Künstlers vertritt, laden gemeinsam zu einer Ausstellung und einem Vortrags- und Filmabend. Von 12 bis 19 Uhr werden in der Kammer des Pfauen und in den Nebenräumen ausgewählte Arbeiten von Christoph Schlingensief gezeigt: Kunst, Filme, Audiomitschnitte, Memorabilien - viele davon mit Zürich-Bezug. Freunde, Zeugen und Mitarbeiter berichten von ihren Begegnungen mit ihm.

Children’s Theatre of Charlotte Hosts Auditions for SCROOGE 10/5-10/6

Children's Theatre of Charlotte will hold open auditions for 'Scrooge!' on Tuesday, October 5 and Wednesday, October 6, from 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm. The musical adaptation of 'A Christmas Carol,' 'Scrooge!' features all of the wonderful characters and spirits from Charles Dickens' classic tale. Professional roles are available for adult actors of varying ages who can sing and dance. Roles are also available for young actors grades 5 and up, offering the unique opportunity to perform in a professional setting with professional actors.

Composer Dana P. Rowe, Director John Simpkins, and Actor Stephen Bienskie (recipient of a Helen Hayes Award for his performance in the 1998 production) will be participating in a pre-show discussion prior to the 10/4 performance of The Fix. The event will take place at New York University's Frederick Loewe Theatre on Monday, October 4 at 6:30 pm and will be held in conjunction with that evening's 8 pm performance. The pre-show discussion has no additional admission price, but a ticket for the 8pm performance is required. That evening is also 'Industry Night' at NYU's production. The general public is welcome - but anyone attending that presents a theatrical union card will be admitted free for any or all of the evening.

Commencing with a free concert at Auer Hall Oct. 5 at 8 p.m., Janette Fishell, chair of the Organ Department at Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music, will present 'The Seasons of Sebastian: The solo works of Johann Sebastian Bach,' a three-year cycle of 21 free, open-to-the-public Bach organ performances that take place at various locations on campus and churches in the Bloomington community. The works are organized into 'secular' -- the seasons of Bach's life, performed on the IU campus -- and the 'spiritual' seasons of his faith, performed at area churches, with some 'cross-pollination' to keep each concert as artistically significant as possible.
