La MaMa in association with Loco7 Dance Puppet Theatre Company presents the World Premiere of URBAN ODYSSEY, a dance puppet theatre piece conceived by Federico Restrepo and Denise Greber, designed, directed and choreographed by Federico Restrepo, with original music composed by Obie Award Winner Elizabeth Swados, and text by Elias Khoury.

Irish-American actor/author/former candidate for NY governor Malachy McCourt is scheduled to perform a one-night, one-man show at South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC) called LOVING LIFE AND LAUGHING AT DEATH. The performace is Friday March 9th at 8:00pm at SOPAC, 1 SOPAC Way, South Orange, NJ. Tickets are $35.

The cast of the Off-Broadway show HURT VILLAGE has been working on 'jookin' dancing: a form of dancing which originated in Memphis, where the show takes place. In the following video, the cast shows off their moves in an upbeat, energy-filled rehearsal.

Freedom to Marry, the campaign to win marriage nationwide, will host a Valentine's Day fundraising event with the Interbank Roundtable called "Get Engaged!" at XL Nightclub on Thursday, February 16. The party will include a VIP cocktail reception from 5-6 pm with special guests including Tony© Winners Audra McDonald of Porgy and Bess, and Nikki M. Pumpkin Theatre continues its 44th Season "What's in a Name?" with the musical ALEXANDER AND THE TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE, NO GOOD, VERY BAD DAY. Everyone has bad days but this one takes the cake. Alexander is tortured by his brothers and sisters, forgets his homework, get gum stuck in his hair; just a terrible day. How will he muddle through?

THE INTERGALACTIC NEMESIS-the "live-action graphic novel" production touring the nation-is scheduled to appear on tonight's Valentine's Day broadcast of Conan. The creative team behind the production is at O'Brien's studio for a taping of a segment of the show that will include O'Brien himself, along with comedy partner Andy Richter.

CSO Music Director Jean-Marie Zeitouni leads the Columbus Symphony in three of the most popular orchestral examples of creative and appealing musical "conversations" in the Themes & Variations program. The program includes Brahms' Academic Festival Overture, Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 24 in C Minor featuring guest pianist Stewart Goodyear, and Elgar's Variations on an Original Theme, "Enigma Variations."

THE DUCHESS OF MALFI will be the final production to be staged at the popular South London venue, the Greenwich Playhouse which will close its doors on the 10th April 2012 after twenty years of service to theatre; following the landlord's - Beds and Bars - decision to not renew the venue's lease in order to exploit commercial opportunities offered by the Olympics. Legendary Boston Comedian, thought to be one of the original comics from Boston Lenny Clarke is back on the road with his "No Holds Barred" stand up comedy tour. The tour stops at the Capitol Center for the Arts on Friday March 9th at 8pm. Tickets start at $20.

THE TERRIBLE MANPAIN OF UMBERTO MACDOUGAL, written by Emleigh Wolf, directed by Bricken Sparacino takes place Under St. Marks Theater: 94 St. Marks Place (between 1st Ave. and Ave. A). This show performs February 23-March 3.

A company of three generations of African American women with 'hattitude' and one man form the cast of CROWNS, a moving and celebratory musical play. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm, with Sunday matinees at 3 pm, and a show on Thursday March 1 at 7 pm.
