The cast of the Tony Award-winning musical NEWSIES took their excited final bows at the Nederlander Theatre today to uproarious applause from a packed audience. NEWSIES featured a Tony Award-winning score with music by eight-time Academy Award winner Alan Menken and lyrics by Jack Feldman, with a book by four-time Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein. Produced by Disney Theatrical Productions, NEWSIES was directed by Tony nominee Jeff Calhoun and choreographed by Christopher Gattelli, who won a 2012 Tony Award for his work. NEWSIES enjoyed almost two and a half years on Broadway.

The upcoming Annie film star and Tony Award-nominee Bobby Cannavale (The Motherf***** With the Hat) accepted the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge today. Before duming a bucket of water on himself on a city rooftop, he nominated Juno Diaz, Martin Scorsese, and former Broadway co-star Chris Rock to take the challenge.

Kyle Selig stars as Pippin in the new national touring production of PIPPIN that launches in Denver on Sept. 6. Kyle sent his selfie video series, JOIN US: A DAY IN THE LIFE OF PIPPIN that The Denver Center for the Performing Arts put together into a vlog to show fans a fun day in the life of Kyle and his show. Performers included Marisha Wallace (Disney's Aladdin) singing 'Titanium,' Brian Craft (Avenue Q, Revival of LMPC) singing 'Caught in the Storm,' Rachel Lorin (Recording Artist, Star of Oxygen's The Next Big Thing) singing 'Faithfully', Brian Detlefs (Trails: the Musical) singing 'Coda,' and Ashton Foster (You're Really Not Helping) singing 'Stay,' Gavin Rohrer (Revival of LMPC).

Ricky Gervais recently challenged Russell Crowe to participate in social media's latest craze- the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. Crowe accepted and posted a video to Twitter (@RussellCrowe), making sure viewers knew that dumping a bucket of ice on himself was going to be anything but refreshing. In this video, he says, 'Here, I have a bucket of ice. And it's winter time- it's freezing!'

Rocky star Andy Karl and his wife Orfeh just released a new mash-up song called 'No Time for Pain (A Tribute to Rocky Broadway)' with a photographic flashback on the run of Rocky, which just closed on Broadway. TV Land has picked up 'The Gaffigan Show,' created by Peter Tolan and Jim Gaffigan. The network has ordered 10 episodes, it was announced today by Larry W. Jones, President, TV Land. Gaffigan is The New York Times best-selling author of 'Dad is Fat.' The single-camera series is inspired by Gaffigan's real life, exploring one man's struggle in New York City to find a balance between fatherhood, stand-up comedy and an insatiable appetite.
