Actress/singer/songwriter Alicia Witt sang and performed a set of her original songs with piano and full band at the Public Theater's JOE's PUB on Monday, July 28th at 9:30 PM. Alicia is an award-winning classical pianist. Special guests included Josiah Early, Jeff Fiorello and Lady Rizo of Lady Rizo and the Assettes.

On July 26th, 2008, Hunter Bell, co-creator and co-star of Broadway's [title of show] was a featured special guest for Off Broadway's Happy Sunshine Kung Fu Flower. Bailey Hanks won the MTV competition 'The Search For The New Elle Woods' making her the new successor to Laura Bell Bundy in the role of Elle Woods. On July 23rd, 2008 Bailey took the stage for the first time along surrounded by new faces and old favorites.

Rydell High got a new class couple tonight, Tuesday, July 22, 2008 when Derek Keeling and Ashley Spencer joined the cast in the lead roles of Danny and Sandy.

On July 13th, 2008 Laurence Fishburne had his Sardi's portrait unveiled at the famous restaurant. Fishburne is currently starring in the one man show Thurgood.

The upcoming musical A Tale of Two Cities held a 'meet & greet' of the cast and crew on July 16th, 2008.

Sierra Boggess and her younger sister Summer Boggess sat down with photographer Peter James Zielinski to commemorate Summer subbing as the cellist in the orchestra of The Little Mermaid. Summer is a gifted cellist who made her Broadway debut this past April as a sub in various Broadway productions.

On July 9th, clothing store Theory (40 Gansevoort St and Hudson) presented a 45-minute preview performance of the Public Theater's upcoming revival of Hair (the show opens July 22nd). The store also exhibited its own original Hair paraphernalia, ranging from scripts to T-shirts and programs inside the boutique. After the show the cast, writer Jim Rado, Public Artistic Director Oskar Eustis, and guests attended an exclusive after-party.

Angels, a new musical based on Milton's epic poem, Paradise Lost, will premiere on Broadway during the 2008-9 season. Written by the new Australian team of Ken Lai (book, music and lyrics) and Marcus Cheong (book and lyrics), Angels will feature a cast of 24, including Robert Cuccioli, Jessica Grové and Nicholas Rodriguez, in the leading roles. The musical gave a special presentation on Wednesday July 9th to an invited audience, and BroadwayWorld.com was there!

This past Friday, June 27, The Samsung Experience Store, located on the third floor of the Time Warner Center, hosted an afternoon with the cast of A Catered Affair. The afternoon events included a meet and greet with cast members, including stars Tom Wopat, Matt Cavenaugh and Harvey Fierstein, a special in-store performance from Mr. Wopat, and a cast CD signing.
