TINA - THE Tina Turner MUSICAL will begin performances on Broadway at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre (205 West 46th Street) on Saturday, October 12, 2019 with an opening night set for Thursday, November 7, 2019.

A new video was released today celebrating the hit musical Girl from the North Country. Filmed in the Dylan Room at the historic Troubadour in London, the video features stars Rachel John (Mrs. Neilsen in the West End and Toronto productions) and Jeannette Bayardelle (Mrs. Neilsen at The Public and on Broadway) meeting and performing together for the first time. As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Netflix will debut a feature-length concert special from Ben Platt, which was filmed at Platt's final stop on tour, his sold-out show at Radio City Music Hall last night, September 29. Platt's tour features songs from his debut album Sing to Me Instead and his recent single 'Rain.'

According to Variety, stage and screen star Anika Noni Rose will guest star in two episodes of Hulu's upcoming adaptation of Little Fires Everywhere. She will play Paula Hawthorne, a  'renowned photographer and art professor in New York who becomes a mentor to Mia when she is young.'

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts will soon presents the Broadway Center Stage production of Footloose. The cast is led by J. Quinton Johnson (Choir Boy, Hamilton, Broadway Center Stage: In the Heights) as Ren McCormack, Judy Kuhn (Fun Home, Les Misérables) as Ethel McCormack, Isabelle McCalla (The Prom, Aladdin) as Ariel Moore, Michael Park (Dear Evan Hansen) as Reverend Shaw Moore, and three-time Tony Award nominee Rebecca Luker as Vi Moore (Mary Poppins, the Kennedy Center's Little Dancer). They are joined by Joshua Logan Alexander as Chuck, Peter McPoland as Willard Hewitt, Tony Award nominee Michael Mulheren (Kiss Me, Kate; Bright Star) as Coach Dunbar, Lena Owens as Wendy Jo, Nicole Vanessa Ortiz (Spamilton) as Rusty, and Rema Webb (The Color Purple, Violet) as Lulu Warnicker/Eleanor Dunbar/Betty Blast, Grace Slear and Urleen, with Brandon Burks, Claire Crause, Michele Lee, Jess LeProtto, Gregory Liles, Nick Martinez, Maximilian Sangerman, Jonathan Savage, Bethany Tesarck, Tiernan Tunnicliffe, and Jamar Williams.

After a sold-out, year-long critically acclaimed international tour, David Byrne's American Utopia will play a strictly limited engagement on Broadway at the intimate Hudson Theatre from October 4, 2019 through January 19, 2020, with the official opening set for October 20, 2019.

On November 19, 2017, Ben Platt said goodbye to Evan Hansen forever... or so we thought. In a recent interview with Sunday Today, the actor, who won a Tony Award for originating the role,  revealed that initial plans are underway for a film adaptation, and that he would love to play the character again.
