Broadway is on a break. But you don't have to wait until it reopens to get your fix! Fortunately, actor/writer Allison Frasca (All Star the Musical, Wicked/Frozen) is here to break down the plots of every show on Broadway - at least as best as she remembers them.

In the free exhibition In The Company of Harold Prince: Broadway Producer, Director, Collaborator, The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts explores Prince's creative trajectory, and showcase the team of designers, stage managers, press agents, composers, and writers he assembled to create so many history-making shows. The exhibit was set to be on display through March 31, 2020, but while the museum is closed to the public due to COVID-19 precautions, curator Doug Reside revealed that the future of the exhibit is undecided. He wants to make sure that the incredible collection is seen, however, so he's giving a guided tour of the full experience below!

Billy Elliot made a huge splash in London in 2005 before it crossed the Atlantic. The Broadway production opened at the Imperial Theatre on November 13, 2008, where it remained for over three years and 1312 performances. The show made Tony winners of its three pint-sized leading men (David Álvarez, Trent Kowalik and Kiril Kulish) and picked up nine other Tonys that season. The production also notabley starred Haydn Gwynne, Gregory Jbara and a young, future Tony-winner, Santino Fontana.

After premiering in Los Angeles in 2008, Dolly Parton's 9 to 5 opened on Broadway on April 30, 2009 at the Marquis Theatre. Based on the 1980 film of the same name, the musical featured cast, including Allison Janney, Stephanie J. Block, Megan Hilty, Marc Kudisch, and Andy Karl.

The Second Stage Theater production of Richard Greenberg's Take Me Out is in rehearsals and will begin previews April 2, 2020 and officially open on April 23, 2020 at Second Stage's Hayes Theater (240 West 44th Street). The cast just met the press and BroadwayWorld was on hand for the big day!

Roundabout Theatre Company presents the world premiere of 72 Miles to Go..., by Hilary Bettis, directed by Jo Bonney. The cast includes Tyler Alvarez as 'Aaron,' Jacqueline Guillén as 'Eva,' Bobby Moreno as 'Christian,' Maria Elena Ramirez as 'Anita,' and Triney Sandoval as 'Billy.'

The Belasco Theatre was the place to be last night as Broadway's best gathered to celebrate opening night of Girl from the North Country. BroadwayWorld was there for the big night and we're taking you to the star-studded red carpet with Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Ethan Slater, Brian d'Arcy James, Michal Park and so many more!

The cast of Girl From The North Country was treated to an opening night surprise from Bob Dylan himself! 30 bottles of Heaven's Door Whiskey were sent to the theater along with a personal telegram sending along his well wishes. Check out a video from the celebration below!
