Nicole Rosky

Nicole is the Editor-in-Chief of BroadwayWorld, where she began her journey as an intern in 2010. As BroadwayWorld's Senior Managing Editor, a role she took on in 2012, she covered over a decade's-worth of theatre and live entertainment in New York City and around the world. Throughout her time with BroadwayWorld, Nicole has worked extensively with the photo and video team, producing (and sometimes editing) a great deal of the site's original programming, including Backstage with Richard Ridge, Dance Captain Dance Attack, Next on Stage, Kid Critics, and Teen Critics, just to name a few. Originally from outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she is a proud graduate of Penn State University's College of Communications. Nicole currently resides in Brooklyn, New York, where she gets to enjoy far more great theatre than she ever dreamed. Her first great role was "Billy Flynn" in her fourth grade musical theatre class. Oh, how far she has come!

  • Tony Nominee Reactions - I have had the pleasure of covering every Tony Awards season since 2011 and one of my favorite parts is hearing from the nominees just moments after they find out that they ARE nominees.
  • Theatre Queens - When I'm not at a Broadway show, you'll find me at home, catching up on the latest episodes of RuPaul's Drag Race. I've had a blast chatting with many of the queens who call theatre their first love.
  • Broadway Jukebox - I love a good playlist and I find myself making them OFTEN. I've curated over 100 musical theatre playlists for BroadwayWorld (my personal favorite is "Female Anthems of Broadway"). Give them a listen and follow BroadwayWorld on Spotify to find out what I come up with next!
  • Broadway By Design - I created this series after realizing how little information is shared about the theatrical design process and it has become one of my favorite ongoing features.
  • Next On Stage - Working on this project and having the opportunity to spotlight so many talented young people from around the country has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career.

Yesterday at a press conference in front of Broadway's St. James Theatre (246 West 44th Street), Broadway Impact co-founder Rory O'Malley (2011 Tony Award® nominee) announced that several same-sex couples from the Broadway community will get married onstage at the St. James Theatre on July 25 immediately following that evening's performance of HAIR. These unions will be among the very first in New York State, following the landmark bill recently passed by state legislators. The press conference also included Public Theater Artistic Director Oskar Eustis, Jujamcyn Theatres President Jordan Roth and the cast of HAIR.

Naked Angels in association with the Guild Hall will present a one night only benefit staged reading of long-time company member and celebrated playwright Warren Leight's Tony Award-winning play Side Man, starring Zachary Quinto and original Broadway cast members Jeff Binder, Kevin Geer, Michael Mastro, Angelica Torn, and Frank Wood. The reading will take place at Guild Hall in East Hampton, NY on Sunday, August 28 at 7pm. Proceeds will go towards Naked Angels' ongoing development of new work.

Omaha's Broadway dreams come true for the second consecutive summer when The Broadway Dreams Foundation (BDF) partners with Omaha Performing Arts to present their acclaimed Summer Performing Arts Intensive at the Holland Performing Arts Center (1200 Douglas Street, Omaha, NE). Acclaimed theatrical director and producer Richard Jay-Alexander and a roster of Broadway veterans work with aspiring young performers from the Omaha area throughout the week in preparation for 'True Colors,' a one of a kind Broadway concert open to the public. The fully improvised live sitcom, Naked in a Fishbowl, films its next six episodes with a new casting director, Katja Blichfeld (30 Rock, NBC), and a new theater, The Cherry Lane. Starting Monday, July 18 and running through August 15, Naked will run for six episodes starting at 7pm. Each show is 60 minutes long.

IN THE HEIGHTS' Andrea Burns will star in Tim Pinckney's new comedy, EVER SO HUMBLE and The Hangar Theatre. The production will run from July 14 through 23. She is joined in the production by Greg Bostwick, Andréa Burns, Jesse Bush, Karl Gregory, Philip Hoffman, Eric T. Miller and Erica Steinhagen. Hangar Artistic Director Peter Flynn will helm the production.
