Last night, two-time Tony Award winner Matthew Broderick and two-time Emmy Award winner Sarah Jessica Parker made their return to Broadway in the long-awaited first preview of Neil Simon’s classic comedy about marriage, Plaza Suite under the direction of Tony Award winner John Benjamin Hickey. The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts presents a star-studded lineup of Broadway and Kennedy Center favorites coming together in the Kennedy Center Opera House to celebrate 50 Years of Broadway at the Kennedy Center. Last night, February 11, saw the first of two sold-out performances, with the second performance taking place this evening, February 12 at 7:30 p.m.

Skeleton Crew, the new play by Tony Award nominee Dominique Morisseau and directed by Tony Award winner Ruben Santiago-Hudson, is taking Broadway by storm at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre, where it opened on January 26.

Just yesterday, The Music Man kicked off its opening week with a special event including an (un)official Mayoral Proclamation by Mayor George Shinn (Jefferson Mays) and a performance by The Barbershop Quartet (Phillip Boykin, Eddie Korbich, Daniel Torres, Nicholas Ward), all to celebrate the production's 21 Broadway debuts. This event marked the first time any cast members will be seen in costume outside of the theater. BroadwayWorld is taking you inside the big day!

New York City Center just kicked off the 2022 Encores! Season with The Tap Dance Kid, featuring music by Henry Krieger, lyrics by Robert Lorick, and a book by Charles Blackwell. Directed by Tony Award-winner Kenny Leon (A Raisin in the Sun), the production also includes new tap sequences by choreographer Jared Grimes (After Midnight) and a concert adaptation by Lydia Diamond (Stick Fly). Broadway's Joseph Joubert (Caroline or Change) will guest music direct The Tap Dance Kid.

Atlantic Theater Company just celebrated opening night of Shhhh, written, directed by, and featuring Clare Barron (Pulitzer Prize finalist Dance Nation). Shhhh will run through Sunday, February 13th at Atlantic Stage 2 (330 West 16th Street).

Lincoln Center Theater's Intimate Apparel, a new opera with music by Ricky Ian Gordon and libretto by Lynn Nottage, based off of her play of the same name, and direction by Bartlett Sher just opened at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater. 

Audible Theater’s new production of Eugene O’Neill epic Long Day’s Journey Into Night, directed by Tony Award nominee Robert O’Hara, is now in performances at the Minetta Lane Theatre through February 20 only.

The Avett Brothers musical Swept Away, written by Tony Award®-winning stage and screen writer John Logan and helmed by Tony Award-winning director Michael Mayer, just opened at Berkeley Rep. The engagement was recently extended for a second time and will now play through Sunday, March 6, 2022.

On Sunday, January 30, Paper Mill Playhouse will celebrate opening night of Clue, directed by Casey Getting its Paper Mill production after a postponement in the fall of 2020, murder and blackmail are back on the menu when six mysterious guests assemble for a dinner party at Boddy Manor. Was it Mrs. Peacock in the study with the knife? Or Colonel Mustard in the library with the wrench? Based on the cult 1985 Paramount movie and inspired by the classic Hasbro game, this farce-meets-murder-mystery is bloody good fun.

Manhattan Theatre Club is presenting the Broadway premiere of Skeleton Crew, written by Tony Award nominee Dominique Morisseau and directed by Tony Award winner Ruben Santiago-Hudson. The production opens tomorrow, Wednesday, January 26, at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street).

Tony Award® nominee and original Broadway cast member Jonathan Freeman played his final performance as Jafar in Disney's hit musical Aladdin just yesterday, January 23, 2022. Fellow original Broadway cast member Dennis Stowe will assume the role beginning Tuesday, January 25. Watch his emotional final curtain call.

Lincoln Center Theater’s INTIMATE APPAREL, a new opera with music by Ricky Ian Gordon and libretto by Lynn Nottage, based off of her play of the same name, and direction by Bartlett Sher begins previews tomorrow, January 13 ahead of a Monday, January 31 opening at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater. The opera was in previews at the Newhouse when theaters shutdown in 2020.

Last night, To Kill a Mockingbird welcomed Academy Award nominee and Emmy Award winner Greg Kinnear as he made his Broadway debut as “Atticus Finch.” Written by Academy Award winner Aaron Sorkin with direction by Tony Award winner Bartlett Sher, To Kill a Mockingbird also stars Baize Buzan as “Scout Finch.”

Roundabout Theatre Company has released the studio recording of Caroline, or Change (The New Broadway Cast Recording) from Broadway Records/Roundabout Records, with the physical release date set for January 14, 2022. 

Shoshana Bean is touring the world with her latest concert event 'Sing Your Hallelujah,' which plays tonight, December 13 at New York City's famed Apollo Theatre. Next up, she will take the show to Los Angeles' Immanuel Presbyterian Cathedral on December 18.
