Beginning February 11th, the Michael O'Neal Chamber Singers will present Amore: Love Through the Ages at a variety of venues throughout northwestern Georgia. For centuries, composers and poets have found love to be an irresistible subject, and some of the most engaging choral music has been created as a result. This concert will feature a variety of tributes to this universal theme. With a repertoire spanning centuries and styles, The Michael O'Neal Chamber Singers is a 24-member group that appears on concert series and for corporate, civic and private events.

Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre of Indianapolis will cut loose this February with Footloose, the stage adaptation of the hit 1980s movie musical. Nominated for four Tony Awards and live on stage at Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre, Footloose is the story of a big-city kid who shakes things up when he comes to a small town.

The Pulitzer Prize-winning comic drama, Dinner with Friends by Connecticut's Donald Margulies, has been announced as the second production in the 2010 season at Westport Country Playhouse. Scheduled for June 1 through June 19, 'Dinner with Friends' will be directed by David Kennedy, Playhouse associate artistic director.

Twice a year, New Yorkers have the chance to experience the city's finest restaurants for a fraction what they might usually spend. New York City Restauant Week began as a lunch-only promational event in 1992. Since then it has grown to incorporate almost 300 restaurants, most of which feature the same restaurant Week deal: $24.07 for a three course lunch, and $35 for dinner. Prices do not include drinks, taxes, and tips.

Starfighter Onstage, LLC has announced its new projects in development for 2010. First, it will start developing a new musical adapted from the comic novel VIVA MAX! by Jim Lehrer (NewsHour with Jim Lehrer). VIVA MAX! is a satire about a Mexican general who tries to impress a woman who spurned him, embarking on a quest to cross the border into the United States and recapture the Alamo. Jim Lehrer's novel was the source of a 1969 film comedy in which Peter Ustinov played the general. Fred Landau (who wrote the book for the LLC's LAST STARFIGHTER musical) is writing the book, and is developing the novel-to-stage adaptation of the story with Julie Miller. The composer and lyricist will be announced soon.

Performances of the Musical 'The Jack Sprat Low Fat World Tour' begin at the Wharton Center for the Performing Arts in the Pasant Theatre on January 28th, 2010. The performance is directed and choreographed by Devanand Janki (Zanna, Don't!, Junie B. Jones) with music and lyrics by John Forster and book by Michael Mark. The cast features Jen Shafer as Gloria Sprat, Chris Robinson as Jack Sprat, Brandon Piper as MC Hubbard, Sebastian Gerstner and Caitlyn Knisely.

Seattle festival of Improv is a four-day improv celebration that has taken place for the past eight years. Groups from all over North America descend upon the city to perform at two different venues: the Historic University Theater (home of Jet City Improv) and The Market Theater (home of Seattle Theatersports).

The Copperstate Dinner Theater and Arizona Broadway Theater have announced that the world premier of the musical revue, Country Jukebox, has been extened through February 7th. Demand for this terrific revue has been overwhelming and to meet demands three performances have been added for February 5, 6 and 7.

Chris Henry & Royal Family's World Premiere Production of Sean Cullen's Safe Home, directed by award winning director Chris Henry will receive a three performance extension through February 3, 2010. Safe Home began performances on Friday, January 8 and opened on January 14; it was originally slated to close on January 31, but will now run through Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at the Women's Interart Center (500 West 52nd Street). Winter Jam NYC brings winter fun back to Central Park with a Lake Placid snowfield for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. Partners at Olympic Regional Development Authority will be blowing snow for a week leading up to the event to create a winter wonderland. Guests can bring along a snowboard and preregister online for the Switch Academy Rail Jam, hosted by Red Bull-endorsed snowboarder Pat Moore, and compete for prizes. The world premiere of Shaun White's Olympic training documentary Red Bull Project X will also be feautured at the event. Guests will be able to learn to ski with Head Skis, or snowboard with the Chill Foundation. Winter Jam NYC takes place February 11th from 11am-4pm.

Long Beach Opera's first performance of the 2010 season, The Good Soldier Schweik, will make it's final appearance in Santa Monica on January 30th. Fallen Angel Theatre Company presents, as a part of its new playreading series, Sunny Days by Anto Nolan. The reading will take place on Monday, February 1st at 7pm. The Howard County Center for the Arts has announced that registration is now open for their 21st Annual Cultural Arts Showcase. The showcase is a great opportunity for Local PTAs, community organizations and civic groups to preview performing and visual artists for residencies, workshops and performances. Over 45 artists will present excerpts of their programs and many more groups will be on-site with information and displays.
