Stars from stage and screen will take center stage at the 2019 Tony Awards, on CBS on Sunday, June 9th, 8:00 - 11:00 p.m. (ET/PT time delay), when they broadcast live from Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Matthew Lopez's Olivier Award-winning play THE INHERITANCE, will come to Broadway this fall! Directed by multi Olivier and Tony Award-winner Stephen Daldry (Billy Elliot, Netflix's 'The Crown') and designed by Olivier and Tony Award winner Bob Crowley, THE INHERITANCE will begin previews at Broadway's Ethel Barrymore Theatre (243 West 47th street) on Friday, September 27, 2019 and will officially open on Sunday, November 17, 2019.

As previously announced, Sea Wall / A Life, which recently played to sold-out audiences at The Public Theater, will open on Broadway this summer. Written by Simon Stephens and Nick Payne respectively, directed by Carrie Cracknell, and starring Academy Award nominee Jake Gyllenhaal, who received a Drama League Award nomination for his performance in the show at The Public Theater, and Tony Award nominee Tom Sturridge who received a Lucille Lortel Award nomination for his performance in the show at The Public Theater, Sea Wall / A Life will begin performances on Friday, July 26 at Hudson Theatre (141 West 44th Street), with the opening night set for Thursday, August 8.

It's been over five decades since the first time that 2019 Tony nominee Fionnula Flanagan first graced a Broadway stage. The star of The Ferryman (nominated for nine Tony Awards) made her debut in 1968's Lovers. Now she's back on the stage eight times a week at the the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre, where she is giving the performance of a lifetime as Aunt Maggie Far Away.

The Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization announced today the release of the fifth music video in their YouTube Series, "R&H Goes Pop!" The video features Kyle Selig (Mean Girls, The Book of Mormon), putting a modern twist on "The Sweetest Sounds" from the 1962 Richard Rodgers musical, No Strings, featuring music direction and arrangements by Jacob Fjeldheim.

On June 9, as the greatest artists of the 2019 Broadway season are saluted for their outstanding work, the Tony Awards will also recognize the late, great Marin Mazzie for a lifetime of outstanding work. As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Mazzie, who passed away in September, will be honored for her advocacy and leadership within the theatre community as a brave and dedicated voice for women's health issues and organizations such as the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation.
