Nicole Rosky

Nicole is the Editor-in-Chief of BroadwayWorld, where she began her journey as an intern in 2010. As BroadwayWorld's Senior Managing Editor, a role she took on in 2012, she covered over a decade's-worth of theatre and live entertainment in New York City and around the world. Throughout her time with BroadwayWorld, Nicole has worked extensively with the photo and video team, producing (and sometimes editing) a great deal of the site's original programming, including Backstage with Richard Ridge, Dance Captain Dance Attack, Next on Stage, Kid Critics, and Teen Critics, just to name a few. Originally from outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she is a proud graduate of Penn State University's College of Communications. Nicole currently resides in Brooklyn, New York, where she gets to enjoy far more great theatre than she ever dreamed. Her first great role was "Billy Flynn" in her fourth grade musical theatre class. Oh, how far she has come!

  • Tony Nominee Reactions - I have had the pleasure of covering every Tony Awards season since 2011 and one of my favorite parts is hearing from the nominees just moments after they find out that they ARE nominees.
  • Theatre Queens - When I'm not at a Broadway show, you'll find me at home, catching up on the latest episodes of RuPaul's Drag Race. I've had a blast chatting with many of the queens who call theatre their first love.
  • Broadway Jukebox - I love a good playlist and I find myself making them OFTEN. I've curated over 100 musical theatre playlists for BroadwayWorld (my personal favorite is "Female Anthems of Broadway"). Give them a listen and follow BroadwayWorld on Spotify to find out what I come up with next!
  • Broadway By Design - I created this series after realizing how little information is shared about the theatrical design process and it has become one of my favorite ongoing features.

O'Neill Seeks Applicants for Music Theatre Conference, Through 12/1

The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center has announced the start of its Open Submission Process for projects to be considered for development during the 2011 National Music Theater Conference. Music theater works from applicants for the National Music Theater Conference will be accepted with postmarks from Friday, October 1st through Friday, December 1st, 2010. Early submissions are strongly encouraged.

Hutton Joins LOVE, LOSS, AND WHAT I WORE at the Geffen

Actress and fashion icon Lauren Hutton joins the newest cast of Nora Ephron and Delia's Love, Loss, and What I Wore as it continues its Los Angeles run in the Audrey Skirball Kenis Theater at the Ephron Geffen Playhouse. Hutton will play the role of Gingy, and she joins Steppenwolf alum Glenne Headly (Dirty Rotten) who returns after appearing in the third cast of Love, Loss, and What I Wore, film and TV veteran Edie(The Hogan Family, Ferris Bueller's Day Off), sketch comedy and musical theater actress Erica Ash (Lion King, Scoundrels, Spamalot) and stage actress Winslow Corbett (The Graduate national tour).

The family thought they had just been invited to attend an afternoon baseball game between the Yankees and the New York Mets. But imagine their surprise when, while surrounded by thousands of cheering fans at Yankee Stadium, they realized that they'd be the latest recipients of a new home. Instead of design team leader Ty Pennington's traditional morning wake up call, he stormed the field and announced the good news right before the game.

The Chicago Council on Science and Technology and Children's Memorial Research Center will host a lecture, book signing and special dinner, featuring Veteran Journalist Bill Kurtis and Rebecca Skloot, critically acclaimed author of the New York Times bestseller The Immortal Life of HEnrietta LAcks, on Tuesday, November 16, 2010. Celebrating 50 years in talk radio, Barry Farber, 'the dean of talk radio,' will mark his 50th anniversary with a live radio broadcast at Manhattan's Paley Center for Media. Farber will be joined by his celebrity friends, colleagues and politicians during the two hour program. Participants include, Alan Colmes, Curtis Sliwa, Steve Madden, Steve Malzberg and many more. According to a report by Whatsonstage.com, the upcoming West End production of Betty Blue Eyes will open at the Novello Theatre for Spring 2011. The show, which is to be produced by Cameron Mackintosh will feature Sarah Lancashire and Reece Shearsmith, with direction by Richard Eyre. Additional details concerning casting and production dates have not yet been announced.
