Tony Award-winner Lena Hall (Hedwig and the Angry Inch) will lead an industry reading of Citizen Ruth: An American Musical Comedy in New York City on Thursday, March 10, 2016. Based on the Miramax film, screenplay by Alexander Payne and Jim Taylor, Citizen Ruth features a book and lyrics by Mark Leydorf and music by Michael Brennan. The invite-only reading will precede an anticipated Off-Broadway run this summer.

TV personality Marc Summmers will star in a biographical play written by SCHOOL OF ROCK star Alex Brightman as part of the Bloomington Playwrights Project in Indiana.  Debuting this April, EVERYTHING IN ITS PLACE: THE LIFE AND SLIMES OF MARC SUMMERS, will be part of the company's celebrity guest star series. 

Last seen on stage together as the lovable couple of Hedwig and Yitzhak, Michael C. Hall and Lena Hall are reuniting again, but this time they're keeping the wigs on the shelf. 

Current star of FINDING NEVERLAND, Tony Yazbeck, took time out of his busy schedule, between releasing his new album and starring as J.M. Barrie, to lend his singing voice to Pix11 Morning News. Check out Tony's rendition of 'Neverland' below!

The sixth annual Broadway Belts for PFF! was held on February 29, 2016 at the Edison Ballroom in New York City. This special evening united Broadway's stars and key members of the pulmonary fibrosis community for a night of outstanding entertainment. Broadway Belts for PFF! has raised over $400,000 for the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation's Michael Kuchwara Fund for Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis Research, Education, and Advocacy.

This past Monday, the BROADWAY SINGS concert series presented its 10th show withBroadway Sings Billy Joel. A cast of 20 Broadway stars sang completely new arrangements of the Piano Man's greatest hits. The performers were accompanied by a jazz orchestra playing original orchestrations. Previous artists honored in the series include Adele, Michael Jackson, Beyonce, and Sara Bareilles.

Broadway comes to New England in a big way when Tony Award-winning singer and actress Betty Buckley takes the stage in both Boston on February 26th and Old Saybrook on February 27th.

Tony Award-winning composer and lyricist Jason Robert Brown's wildly successful and acclaimed concert series is back at SubCulture this year. Siyasanga Cape Town Theatre Company will be presenting Roy Sargeant's popular Beginners' Playwriting Workshop at the Artscape Theatre Centre over two weekends, 05, 06 March and 12, 13 March.  The workshop introduces delegates to the basic techniques of playwriting and includes writing exercises together with DVDs of famous plays as examples of great playwriting.

Though fans might know her as katana wielding Michonne on THE WALKING DEAD, actress Danai Gurira is about to make her Brodway debut as the playwright this march with ECLIPSED, starring oscar winning actress Lupita Nyong'o. All while that's going on, she also has an off broadway play, FAMILIAR, premiering soon, while simultaneously working on a pilot for HBO. It might seem like she's got too many things on her plate, but all of her projects stem from her passions. 

Back in 2015, we reported that there was a reading of THE STING that took place around early August. We now have new information that the Araca Group will hold a new reading of the musical, directed again by John Rando. The reading will take place February 22nd to the 26th, with music and lyrics by Mark Hollman and Greg Kotis and the book written by Bob Martin.    

Pieter Toerien presents Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's sparkling family musical, JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT, on stage at the Pieter Toerien Theatre, Montecasino, from 29 April to 7 August 2016.
