Following her aunt's death, Colleen and her daughters inherit her house. However, during their first night in their new home, murderers enter the home, putting Colleen in a situation where she must fight to save her daughters' lives. When the girls suffer a terrible trauma during the night, their disparate personalities diverge even further. The eldest daughter, Beth, is said to become a famous horror author with a perfect family and life in Los Angeles, while her sister, Vera, can't cope, and loses her mind faced to an unshakable sense of paranoia. Sixteen years later the daughters and mother reunite at the house where Colleen and Vera continue to reside. It is then that strange events begin to take place.

Out On Screen's 30th Vancouver Queer Film Festival (VQFF) is pleased to announce its 2018 Visiting Artist in Residence, Indigenous filmmaker Thirza Cuthand along with Local Artists in Residence Jen Sungshine and David Ng of Love Intersections. VQFF also announces today its Festival Spotlights: decolonizing discipline(s): a two-spirit showcase; RISE: Youth Spotlight; Trans Women On Screen Spotlight; and a Spotlight on The Artist. With over 70 films from 15 countries, the Festival will run from August 9-19 at various venues throughout Vancouver.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tom McCarthy is in talks to direct the feature adaptation of the popular podcast S-Town. The movie would see McCarthy re-team with Participant Media, the production company behind best picture-winning Spotlight.

Jaye Jayle, the Evan Patterson-led Americana-noir project have premiered another new single from the new full-length, No Trail and Other Unholy Paths. The slow burning synth track - “As Soon As Night' has premiered via The Quietus, where Evan remarks “'As Soon As Night' is the most enjoyable song to perform on the album. Originally, I called it 'The Break Up Song.' The words are very clear. If there's any confusion maybe give the song another listen, maybe a little louder this time, and let the sounds just spiral around the story.'

Atlantic Records' Death Cab for Cutie has officially announced the release of their upcoming ninth studio album. "Thank You for Today" arrives everywhere on Friday, August 17th. 

The Coronas, the multi-platinum-selling band from Dublin, were honored with Best Irish Pop/Rock Act at the inaugural Irish Post Music Awards presentation last week, which was televised live. In conjunction with IMRO, the Irish performing rights organization, the Awards recognized the best of Ireland's seasoned and emerging artists in various categories.

This summer, Craft Recordings is set to relaunch a legendary group of hip-hop titles originally released between 1989 and 1995 on Delicious Vinyl, the Los Angeles-based classic label whose catalog of West Coast party rock and conscious rap still gets play on radio and at functions worldwide. Featuring audio remastered by Dave Cooley at Elysian Masters, these LPs represent some of the most lasting music of the genre.

Grill masters from four popular barbecue regions across the country are entering the Chopped kitchen for a fiery new season of Chopped Grill Masters, premiering Tuesday, July 31st at 9:00pm ET/PT on Food Network. Over five episodes, four top-notch grill masters from Kansas City, Missouri; North Carolina; Memphis, Tennessee; and Texas compete for a cash prize and hometown bragging rights. Hosted by Ted Allen, and featuring a rotating panel of Chopped and special guest judges, including Moe Cason, Scott Conant, Melissa Cookston, Amanda Freitag, Alex Guarnaschelli, Elizabeth Karmel, Myron Mixon, Marc Murphy, Chris Santos, Ernest Servantes and Geoffrey Zakarian, each regional episode challenges the grill masters to showcase their skills over three rounds - appetizer, entrée and dessert - as they utilize the mystery basket of ingredients to create unique and delicious dishes that will wow the judges; each episode will also include a hometown specialty in one of the baskets, giving the competitors the opportunity to really bring the competition home. The winner from each regional heat will go on to compete in the finale on Tuesday, August 28th at 9pm ET/PT for the $50,000 grand prize. 

Sun June's highly anticipated debut album Years is out this Friday, June 15 on Austin's taste-making indie, Keeled Scales. This week, Hype Machine is streaming the album ahead of release, praising the band's 'warm, spacious songs.' The band just announced a New York City show at Music Hall of Williamsburg, sharing a bill with Brooklyn's own independent pioneers, The Shivers on Friday, July 20. Full list of dates below.
