Norwegian breakthrough artist Sonny Alven reveals his latest melodic production, 'Backseat Lovin', out today via Universal Music. A soft, and melancholic record, guided by a sultry female vocal, the track follows Sonny's various 2017 successes, including Dragonette collaboration 'Awake', dreamy GOLDENS collaboration 'Cool With You', and his highly acclaimed Girls EP.

Brooklyn's CHAPPO return with DO IT, their third studio album and second release on Votiv Music. The album was produced and recorded by John Vanderslice at his studio Tiny Telephone Recording in San Francisco, CA. Bedford + Bowery premiered 'White Noise,' the second single to be released from the forthcoming album.

Singer-songwriters Sam Woolf and The Como Brothers are releasing “On It”, the soulful new single from the upcoming EP Backbeat in the Morning. The single and EP were co-written and co-produced by Woolf and The Como Brothers, and recorded in New York City with Grammy-winning engineer Kenta Yonesaka (Pharrell Williams, Kendrick Lamar). To celebrate the single and EP, Woolf and the Como's kicked off 2018 with an enthusiastically received release party performance on Long Island, New York.

The adventurous, Grammy-winning Kronos Quartet – one of the most celebrated and influential ensembles of our time – joins NYC's acclaimed youth new music ensemble Face the Music (“a force in the New York new-music world” – New York Times) to perform new works written for Kronos' “Fifty for the Future,” a commissioning, education and legacy project showcasing contemporary approaches to the string quartet that features new works by some of today's foremost composers. GoGo Penguin has released “Window,” a stunning new single from their vivid forthcoming album A Humdrum Star, which is set for release February 9 on Blue Note Records. MOJO awarded the album 4-stars calling it “the most insistent distillation of their potent brand of piano-driven melody and groove.” The UK trio has also announced a US tour, which includes their debut at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival this June. Following a North American headlining tour announcement last week, Interscope/Vertigo Records' The Night Game has released a stunning new STRIPPED down rendition of the worldwide hit single 'Kids In Love.' Fans might be more familiar with Norwegian DJ/producer Kygo's version of the track, which also features The Night Game's Martin Johnson (who wrote on the track) but they are certain to fall for this nostalgia-inducing ballad-esque version which premiered via PAPER -- who spoke to Martin about the new music and upcoming tour -- and was released worldwide today.

Post-classical pianist and composer Jean-Michel Blais has shared “roses,” a new song that explores the cathartic effects of music and the understanding of sickness and wellness it provides. On it, Blais deftly treads the lines between the classical and pop worlds, simultaneously referencing Radiohead's 'Pyramid Song', Rachmaninov / Carmen's 'Concerto no 2: Adagio sostenuto', and Celine Dion's 'All By Myself'. Rising Ozark, Arkansas born rocker Welles'—the project of twenty-three year old singer and multi-talented musician Jesse Wells—highly anticipated debut album, Red Trees and White Trashes, is due for release on Friday, June 15 via 300 Entertainment. The release follows his 2017 EP, Codeine, which NYLON declared, “It's neither emo nor theatrical—just very matter-of-fact rock that fits nicely alongside the early works of Bob Dylan and The Flaming Lips.” 

Grammy-nominated guitar virtuoso and composer Julian Lage's new album, Modern Lore (Mack Avenue Records), is out today. Swedish singer and producer Becky & The Birds has today released her debut single 'Holding On'. The song premiered with Clash who called it, “Imaginative, eclectic alt-pop, her mosaic of colours has a lush quality, fusing dank, trip-hop styled percussive snaps to soulful vocals.” The song is a genre-spanning blend of lush electronics, with nods to trip-hop and '90s R&B alongside beautiful samples plucked from nature. The result is similar to the likes of SZA, Solange or Ella Fitzgerald.
