Riverdale Y Hosts 'Meet the Candidates,' 10/25October 18, 2010The Riverdale YM-YWHA will host a pre-election information session with candidates for the New York State Assembly and Senate, as well as for the United States Congress, on Monday, October 25 at 1:00 pm. This will not be a moderated debate, but rather an opportunity to hear from the candidates and ask questions. The Riverdale Y is located at 5625 Arlington Avenue in the northwest Bronx.

One of the most innovative choreographers in history, she was known for her astonishing multi-media staging, visceral movement and fantastic characters who explore male-female interaction. Her work has inspired a generation of artists including Pedro Almodóvar who featured her dance in Talk to Me. Wim Wenders is currently working on a 3-D version of Bausch's choreography.
Sweet and Nasty Burlesque Returns to the Lower East Side, 11/14October 18, 2010The origins of Sweet and Nasty Burlesque are shrouded in mystery, soaked in whiskey, and protected by several binding legal injunctions. Their grand experiment in striptease culminated in a weekly burlesque cavalcade of fantastic proportions that ran Sunday nights on East 11th Street from June 2006 until that venue's sudden destruction by hipsters in August, 2008. Now on Sunday, November 14th, Nasty Canasta - 'Brooklyn's greatest burlesque star' (The Brooklyn Paper) - brings her tassel-twirling minxes back to the Lower East Side for one night only at the Bowery Poetry Club.
