The Riverdale YM-YWHA will host a pre-election information session with candidates for the New York State Assembly and Senate, as well as for the United States Congress, on Monday, October 25 at 1:00 pm. This will not be a moderated debate, but rather an opportunity to hear from the candidates and ask questions. The Riverdale Y is located at 5625 Arlington Avenue in the northwest Bronx.

The world lost one of it's most important dance makers when Pina Bausch passed away last year at the age of 69. One of the most innovative choreographers in history, she was known for her astonishing multi-media staging, visceral movement and fantastic characters who explore male-female interaction. Her work has inspired a generation of artists including Pedro Almodóvar who featured her dance in Talk to Me. Wim Wenders is currently working on a 3-D version of Bausch's choreography.

On October 22 and 23, mentalist Tim David will be at the Firebarn Theater in Fall River for the world premiere of his new comedy and mind-reading show, 'Mind Blowing.'

The origins of Sweet and Nasty Burlesque are shrouded in mystery, soaked in whiskey, and protected by several binding legal injunctions. Their grand experiment in striptease culminated in a weekly burlesque cavalcade of fantastic proportions that ran Sunday nights on East 11th Street from June 2006 until that venue's sudden destruction by hipsters in August, 2008. Now on Sunday, November 14th, Nasty Canasta - 'Brooklyn's greatest burlesque star' (The Brooklyn Paper) - brings her tassel-twirling minxes back to the Lower East Side for one night only at the Bowery Poetry Club.

Brooklyn-based quartet Super Mirage will rock the Lower East Side: Friday, November 12 at 10 pm at The National Underground, 159 East Houston Street. Admission is $8 in advance, $11 at the door. Led by newly appointed music director Jean-Marie Zeitouni, the Columbus Symphony will feature renowned violinist Charles Wetherbee in the 'Wetherbee Plays Mendelssohn' program at the Ohio Theatre (39 E. State St.) on Saturday, November 6, at 8pm, and Sunday, November 7, at 3pm. The program will include Haydn's Overture to L'isola disabitata, Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto in E Minor, and Brahms' Symphony No. 1.

The Flea Theater has announced a two-week extension of its critically acclaimed limited engagement of OFFICE HOURS, by A.R. Gurney, directed by Jim Simpson and featuring The Bats, The Flea's resident company of actors. Originally scheduled to close October 24, performances will now run through November 7, 2010 at The Flea.

Stage Door are pleased to announce the debut CD release of the 1985 Original London Cast recording of 'Mutiny!' The musical was written and starred the iconic pop star David Essex and opened at London's Piccadilly Theatre in July 1985.
