Additional Session of Summer Camp at Henthorne Performing Arts CenterJune 6, 2010Thanks to the generosity of companies and individuals, Tulsa Parks will be expanding their Summer Day Camps. Henthorne Performing Arts Center will now have one additional session of theatre camp. All other sessions are full. This is a great opportunity for children ages 8 (must have completed 2nd grade) to 14 who are interested in getting involved in theatre. The camp includes classes on acting, dancing, and other performance skills. Registration is available at Henthorne Park, 4825 S. Quaker. Enrollment is limited to 40 students.

Patricia Esquivias' Exhibit Extends Thru 6/19 at the Murray Guy GalleryJune 5, 2010Patricia Esquivias' exhibition featuring two video installations, Folklore III and Natures at the Hand, has extended its stay at the Murrary Guy Gallery through June 19. Both works in the show are promiscuous lectures that wander through images and texts and diverse media, where banal details are transformed into deep reflections on modernity, colonialism, and the natural world.
Go Comedy! Announces Changes to the $1000 BITS FinaleJune 5, 2010Extremely high demand for tickets has forced Go Comedy! to add a second show to The Bailout Improv Tournament Spectacular (BITS) Finale. After selling out the initially scheduled 8pm performance in less than an hour, Go Comedy! producers have decided to add a second performance. National Youth Orchestra of Canada Announces 2010 50th Anniversary Tour DatesJune 5, 2010The National Youth Orchestra of Canada (NYOC) will embark on the TD Music 50th Anniversary National Tour, with Maestro Jacques Lacombe on the podium. This three-week venture commences in late July following the NYOC's training session. The tour will also feature travel to the west coast for the first time in five years. It is also with great excitement the NYOC proudly announces world-renowned Canadian tenor Ben Heppner to perform at the NYOC's Stratford date on July 25th, as well as performing a Canadian work by Kati Agocs, Composer-in-Residence with the NYOC. Her commissioned work, Perpetual Summer, will receive its world premiere July 28 at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa. Another Canadian composer, the late Jacques Hétu, composed Sur les rives du Saint-Maurice, a work dedicated to Maestro Lacombe and is featured on this tour.

AVENUE Q tells the story of Princeton, a bright-eyed college grad who moves to NYC with big dreams and a tiny bank account. The only apartment he can afford is way out on Avenue Q, where everyone's looking for the same things he is: a decent job, a stable relationship, and a 'purpose.' Eventually, Princeton learns to embrace the ups and downs of city life and realizes that 'the real world' isn't so bad, after all.
