Trustus Theatre to Present AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY, Opens 10/21October 2, 2011When Trustus Co-Founder Jim Thigpen directed the first Trustus show Luv in 1985, he did not know what to expect for the future of the company. Twenty-seven years later, Trustus Theatre is not only still in existence, but has grown into an institution of professional and provocative entertainment in the Midlands. In his last season as Artistic Director, Thigpen wanted his 'Swan Song' to be the Tony and Pulitzer Prize winning August: Osage County - a show that many theatre fans call one of the most breathtaking evenings they have experienced in the last 5 years. August: Osage County opens on the Trustus Main Stage at 8:00pm on Friday, October 21st.

The Broadway Dolls was created by Broadway veteran (and cast member) Hollie Howard in 2007, and Tour De Fierce is co-conceived, designed, and helmed by Broadway Dolls Artistic Director, Joey Murray. The show will have a six-performance run from October 11th thru October 16th at the 47th Str eet Theatre.

PORGY AND BESS Ends ART Run; Begins Broadway Performance 12/17October 2, 2011A.R.T. American Repertory Theater's (A.R.T.) production of The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess, by George Gershwin, DuBose and Dorothy Heyward, and Ira Gershwin will close on October 2 before moving to Broadway. The adaptation by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Suzan-Lori Parks and Obie Award-winning composer Diedre L. Murray, directed by A.R.T. Artistic Director Diane Paulus, with choreography by Ronald K. Brown, began previews on August 17. The production will begin previews at the Richard Rogers Theatre on December 17, 2011 in anticipation of a January 12, 2012 Broadway opening.
