Monkey Adored, by the writer who captivated critics with his 'visually and emotionally gripping' Treefall - 10 BEST of 2009 - LA Weekly, will run for a limited time only. Last season, Rogue Machine's Four Places garnered 3 Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Awards (including Production of the Year), 5 Garland Awards (including Production of the Year), and the Ovation Award for Best Production.

An ambitious exhibition-sweeping in scope and challenging conventional perceptions of African art-opens September 21 at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Bringing together more than 100 masterpieces drawn from the premier collections in Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Portugal, France, and the United States, Heroic Africans: Legendary Leaders, Iconic Sculptures considers eight landmark sculptural traditions that flourished in West and Central Africa between the 12th and the early 20th century. These works were created by some of the regions' most gifted artists, who were charged with producing enduring visual monuments dedicated to the legacies of revered leaders.

'Where did video games come from?' This question and more will be explored in 'The Beginnings of Video Games,' a special event at Museum of the Moving Image on Saturday, October 1, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. The program will feature a live video chat with the inventor of the home video game, Ralph Baer, and the first public demonstration outside of Brookhaven National Laboratory of William A. Higinbotham's legendary analog computer game, Tennis for Two.

¡Fiesta! Celebrating Hispanic and Latin American Culture-an all-day, museum-wide celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month with an emphasis on family programming-will be presented on Saturday, September 24, at The Metropolitan Museum of Art by the Museum's Multicultural Audience Development Initiative and Education Department. The Met's second annual ¡Fiesta! will feature programs for all ages from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m., offering visitors art-making activities, talks, music performances, and other engaging programs related to Pre-Columbian, Spanish, and Latin American art from the Metropolitan Museum's collection. The Los Angeles Philharmonic, Music Director Gustavo Dudamel and Creative Chair for Jazz Herbie Hancock launch the 2011/12 season with Rhapsody in Blue: Opening Night Concert and Gala, Tuesday, September 27, at Walt Disney Concert Hall.
