Paul Garman, Executive Director/Producer of Musical Theatre West, has announced the cast of Rodgers and Hammerstein's OKLAHOMA!, previewing February 15, opening February 16 at 8pm, and continuing through March 3. Davis Gaines (LA's Phantom of the Opera, Ovation Award winner for Musical Theatre West's Man of La Mancha) makes his Los Angeles-area directorial debut with this production. As with all Musical Theatre West productions, OKLAHOMA! is locally-produced in Long Beach with professional actors from Broadway, national tours, film and television, including the best in local talent.
The House Theatre of Chicago announces new on-sale dates for Company Member and award-winning magician Dennis Watkins' intimate, up-close magic show, The Magic Parlour, currently in an open run at The Palmer House Hilton Hotel, 17 E. Monroe St. in downtown Chicago. Following the conclusion of the company's current production The Magnificents staring Watkins, The Magic Parlour will play at 7:30pm and 9:30pm on Fridays.

Taking a page from the NCAA College Basketball Tournament's "March Madness," famed comedy venue Carolines on Broadway will present its fourth annual "Carolines Comedy Madness," a five-round comedy competition in which 64 comedians will go head to head with a panel of industry judges and audience members deciding who advances to the next rounds and who will be crowned the tournament champion. Hosted by comedian Josh Spear, "Carolines Final Four" events will take place on February 27, March 6, 13, 20 and 27. Tip-off for all events is at 7:00 p.m., at 1626 Broadway, between 49th and 50th Streets, in New York City.
American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) Executive Director Ellen Richard announced today that The Costume Shop theater, A.C.T.'s 49-seat black-box venue located in San Francisco's Central Market corridor, will be home to a custom-designed Art-o-mat vending machine. Made from revamped vintage cigarette machines, the Art-o-mat machine dispenses small, cigarette pack-sized original pieces of artwork. Ranging from stained glass to watercolors to clay sculptures, the original artwork can be purchased from the machine for $5 per item. An official public unveiling, curated by Art-o-mat creator Clark Whittington, will take place at A.C.T.'s Costume Shop theater (1117 Market Street) on Monday, April 8, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
