This one-of-a-kind, dark comedy musical incorporates non-traditional instruments, toys and (ironically) modern sound technology, combined with performance art and projection. Imagination Theater has announced the children's Disney favorite, The Little Mermaid, Jr., opening Friday, April 5 and running through Sunday, April 28.

The MidSouth premier of A Steady Rain by Keith Huff will run at Theatre Memphis in the Next Stage February 15 - March 3, 2013. A gritty drama with epic consequences, the show follows two policemen who are best friends but who are very different and who must come to grips with what happens to them during the course of duty and the investigation that follows. Bearing the responsibility for their egregious failure to assess a situation accurately leads to a tragedy that threatens to rip them apart and destroy the boundaries of their relationship. The show features two actors, John Maness and John Moore, and is directed by Jerry Chipman.

The Elisabeth Morrow School (EMS) in Englewood, New Jersey and Project Cicero will partner up this March to host a 16-school Book Drive that will benefit local schoolteachers in the Englewood Public School system and Teach for America Greater Newark. Project Cicero, which has been in existence in NYC for over ten years, takes new and gently used books from donors at public schools and independent schools and redistributes them to needy public schools through an annual book drive. Project Cicero now has over 100 private, public and parochial schools involved in the drive each year. To date, Project Cicero has placed over 1,850,000 books into 10,500 classrooms and school libraries reaching 450,000 children in under-resourced schools in NYC. This year, for the first time, Project Cicero will expand to Northern New Jersey, benefiting schools in Englewood and Newark.

Signature Theatre has announced that the Signature Theatre Annual Gala celebration will take place on Monday, February 11th and will honor 2012-13 Residency One Playwright David Henry Hwang.

Conductor Charles Dutoit returns to Walt Disney Concert Hall, leading the LA Phil in three performances, Thursday through Saturday, February 14 through 16, at 8 pm. The Valentine's weekend program features Gautier Capucon, considered one of the most captivating cellists of his generation, performing Strauss' thrilling Don Quixote, along with LA Phil Principal Viola Carrie Dennis. The program also includes Mendelssohn's evocative Hebrides Overture and Mozart's Symphony No. 29, K. 201.

In celebration of St. Patrick's week, STG is presenting one of Ireland's most accomplished and renowned Irish traditional music groups, Dervish at the Neptune Theatre on March 16th. Mary Jane Lamond and Wendy MacIsaac, masters of the Cape Breton tradition, will open the bill. This show will be one of the biggest Celtic music events of the year in Seattle.

CYNTHIA-REEVES has announced an exhibition of work by noted American sculptor, Charles Ginnever, at the San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art through February 16, 2013. Viewed as one of Contemporary Art's most prolific and ardent sculptors in the realm of minimalist abstraction, Ginnever's exhibition features one of his signal works, Rashomon, (1993-1995) in patinated bronze.

Bainbridge Performing Arts (BPA) announced today that it has formed a partnership with IslandWood to present an outdoor summertime performance. The BPA Shakespeare Society will perform The Tempest for one week in August on IslandWood's campus.
