The CAPA Summer Movie Series, the longest-running classic film series in America, celebrates its 42nd anniversary in 2012 with classics, cult favorites, and much beloved films. The 2012 series, made possible through the generous support of PNC, will run June 15-August 12 at the historic Ohio Theatre (39 E. State St.), featuring 27 films over nine weeks.

Maryland Ensemble Theatre's (MET) family theater, The Fun Company, will present a new World Premiere adaptation of the children's classic, Heidi.

The newest documentary from acclaimed filmmaker Frederick Wiseman will be screened at 8 p.m. on Friday, May 18 at The Englert Theatre. Presented by FilmScene and the Englert, the screening will be the Iowa premiere of 'Crazy Horse.' Before the film, Iowa City's own Les Dames du Burlesque will perform an opening-act routine inspired by the film.

The lineup for the Lincoln Center Festival tribute to the late soul music icon Curtis Mayfield has been expanded with the addition of artists Sinéad O'Connor, Bilal, Meshell Ndegeocello, William Bell, Ryan Montbleau and Inyang Bassey. Often overlooked today, her story and legacy will be told by Tony Award nominee Hope Clarke (Caroline or Change, Jelly's Last Jam) in the world premiere of Steve Willis' Diana Sands: A Certain Toughness of Spirit. Directed by Sue Lawless, the show begins performances May 15 at the Workshop Theatre Company's Jewel Box Theatre, at 312 West 36th Street, on the 4th floor.
