New Season of ASU Concerts at the Center Starts SeptemberAugust 15, 2012For the second year, Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts is partnering with Arizona State University Herberger Institute's School of Music to present ASU Concerts at the Center, a series of 12 Monday-evening concerts and informal educational talks, which begin Sept. 10 with Steinway Artist and ASU Professor of Music Walter Cosand performing the music of renowned French composer Claude Debussy.
The Alluvium Group Presents HAPPINESS, Beginning 10/5August 15, 2012The Alluvium Group, in association with Oracle Productions, will present HAPPINESS: THE PURSUIT & OTHER TRAGEDIES. This world premiere musical parable is brought to life by seven performers and a live band through Oracle B*Sides, a department at Oracle that gives more artists the opportunity to produce free art in Public Access Theatre. HAPPINESS opens October 5, and runs through October 19. Performances at Oracle Theatre are Thursdays through Saturdays at 8PM, Sundays at 5PM. Commonweal Theatre Announces Grant SupportAugust 15, 2012The Commonweal Theatre Company, located in historic downtown Lanesboro, has been the recipient of grant monies totaling nearly $50,000 during the first half of 2012. Now in its twenty-fourth season, the Commonweal continues to serve as a cultural, educational, and economic asset to the region.
