TACT/The Actors Company Theatre (Scott Alan Evans, Cynthia Harris and Jenn Thompson, Co-Artistic Directors), the critically-acclaimed and Drama Desk nominated Off-Broadway company "dedicated to presenting neglected or rarely produced plays of literary merit," announces the cast and creative team for Lovers by Brian Friel, the first production of the company's 20th Anniversary Season. Directed by TACT Company Member Drew Barr, performances begin at Theatre Row's Beckett Theatre (410 West 42nd Street - between 9th & 10th Avenues) on Tuesday, September 18th, 2012. Opening night is Thursday, September 27th at 7:30pm. Performances will continue through Saturday, October 20th.

Southern Rep Theatre will announce its 2012-13 Season at the Contemporary Arts Center's Spun Cafe 'Happy Hour' Tuesday, August 28, 2012, 5-7pm. Southern Rep and the CAC are welcoming friends, subscribers, members, audiences, local artists and press to gather for the announcement and to celebrate the two companies' partnership in the coming year. The annual event, held each summer, is filmed for the first time ever inBROADWAY OR BUST, airing on consecutive Sunday nights, September 9-23, 2012 at 8:00-9:00 pm ET on PBS (check local listings).

The Last Smoker in America, with book and lyrics by Tony Award® Nominee Bill Russell (Side Show) and music by Drama Desk Nominee Peter Melnick (Adrift in Macao), with direction by Tony Award® winning producer and director Andy Sandberg (Hair; Gore Vidal's The Best Man), choreography by Tony Award® nominee AC Ciulla (Footloose) and music supervision, arrangements, and orchestrations by Fred Lassen (The Gershwin's Porgy & Bess), will play its final performance Saturday evening, September 1, 2012 upstairs at the Westside Theatre (407 West 43rd Street). Previews began on July 11, 2012 with Opening Night on August 2, 2012.

Previews begin tonight for If There Is I Haven't Found It Yet, a new play by Nick Payne, directed by Michael Longhurst. If There Is I Haven't Found It Yet features Annie Funke (Anna), Michelle Gomez (Fiona), Jake Gyllenhaal (Terry) and Brian F. O'Byrne (George).

The Board of Directors of the Blyth Centre for the Arts has announced the appointment of Peter Smith as Interim Artistic Director of the Blyth Festival. Board President, Wendy Hoernig reported that the theatre had received a large number of very impressive applications. "It speaks very highly of the calibre of theatre talent in our country," she declared. "It also made the final choice extremely difficult. However we feel that we've made the right decision for this interim position. Peter is passionate about our community, our theatre and the importance of telling our stories. We are delighted to have him returning, and are all looking forward to an exciting theatre season next year."

MEMPHIS, the 2010 Tony® Award Winner for Best Musical, and the show that had its pre-Broadway run at the Silicon Valley's own THEATREWORKS, opens at BROADWAY SAN JOSE performing at the San Jose Center for the Performing Arts on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 for a limited engagement.

The Young People's Chorus of New York City conducted by Artistic Director/Founder Francisco J. Núñez will open the day of 9/11 commemorations on Tuesday, September 11 at 8:46 a.m. by singing the National Anthem at Ground Zero before the annual reading of the names of those lost at the World Trade Center 11 years ago. They will close the ceremonies afterwards.

Capital Stage opens its 8th season with the Sacramento premiere of ENRON by Lucy Prebble. Jonathan Rhys Williams, Aaron Wilton, Shannon Mahoney and Gary S. Martinez head the cast when Sacramento's Capital Stage presents Lucy Prebble's award-winning, savagely comic tale of greed, loss and corporate corruption, ENRON. This first production of Capital Stage's season of 'Power Plays' will open on Saturday, September 22, 2012 and will continue through October 21, 2012.
