Based on one audience suggestion (a title for a play that has yet to be written) The Improvised Shakespeare Company creates a fully improvised play in Elizabethan style. Nothing is planned-out, rehearsed, or written. Each play is completely improvised, so each play is entirely new!

The Madame Walker Theatre Center held its grand opening on December 26th, 1927. The Walker Building, located on the Indiana Avenue corridor, was the center of entertainment, business and pride for the city's African-American community from the 1920s to the 1950s.

Acclaimed Actress, NAACP Image Award Nominee and Dove Award-Winning Singer TAMELA MANN's new CD, BEST DAYS, debuts at #1 on multiple music sales charts, including both the Billboard's Top Gospel Album Chart and Billboard's Top Christian/Gospel Chart. Today the Utah Shakespeare Festival announced that it is extending its current season due to the overwhelming interest from Festival guests and fans in the fall plays. Les Misérables, Hamlet and Stones in His Pockets will run one additional week, through October 27. In addition, the Festival has added new Monday evening performances of Les Misérables on October 1, 8, and 15.

Olympia Entertainment today announced The American Cancer Society will return to Joe Louis Arena on Saturday, September 29 to celebrate the tenth annual Cattle Baron's Ball.

The award-winning Peccadillo Theater Company will present the New York City premiere of TEN CHIMNEYS, a new comedy by Jeffrey Hatcher, starring Byron Jennings as Alfred Lunt, Carolyn McCormick as Lynn Fontanne, Mariette Hartley as Lunt's mother Hattie and Michael McCarty as Sydney Greenstreet. Rehearsals are set to begin today, August 27th. Performances will begin on September 21st with the Opening on Sunday, September 30th at Theatre at St. Clement's, 423 West 46th Street (between Ninth & Tenth Aves.) The cast of TEN CHIMNEYS also features Charlotte Booker, Julia Bray and John Wernke, under the direction of OBIE Award winner Dan Wackerman.

Wachs has announced final casting with the addition of Katrina Lenk (SPIDER-MAN Turn Off the Dark) and Anastacia McClesky (Priscilla, Queen of the Desert) to the cast of the developmental lab of the new disco musical, Last Dance, featuring songs by the legendary Academy, Emmy and Grammy Award-winning pop master Paul Jabara (Enough is Enough, It's Raining Men, Last Dance, and more) with book by Shaun McKenna (Lord of the Rings, The Musical).
