Urban Stages (Frances Hill, Founding Artistic Director) has announced their 2012-13 season, beginning with the 20 Year Anniversary Celebration of Urban Stages ON TOUR with Urban Stages OCTOBERFEST (October 7-November 4), followed by the award-winning "Winter Rhythms 2012" (December 4-16, 2012) a music-fueled two-weeks of established and promising musical artists performing new works. KONG: A Goddamn Thirty-Foot Gorilla is a genre-bending deconstruction/parody of the classic King Kong story, with commentary on the 1933 film, audience participation, dinosaur fights, and a very large ape on a very small stage.

The Burt Reynolds Institute for Film & Theatre (BRIFT) recently announced its fall/winter schedule, which includes a new and exciting Writing the Feature Screenplay class for beginning writers on Monday evenings at 6:30 p.m. The class was added due to the popularity of the Advanced Screenwriting class, which is held on Thursday evenings, also at 6:30 p.m. These conception to completion courses allow students to workshop their scripts by having them performed staged reading style by other students. American Theater Company announces two American classics never-before-paired on a single night- The Catholic Repertory: Doubt & Agnes of God - directed by ATC Artistic Director PJ Paparelli and featuring Ensemble Member Sadieh Rifai, Lance Baker, Penelope Walker and Kate Skinner. The productions, which will be performed together nightly Thursday through Sunday, will run starting September 27 and must close November 4, 2012 at American Theater Company, 1909 W. On October 4 at 7 PM, world-renowned, classically trained German cabaret singer and Broadway star Ute Lemper will debut a new, original song cycle inspired by the love poems of 20th century Chilean poet Pablo Neruda (1904-1973). Rock legend Stevie Nicks in collaboration with musical wizard Dave Stewart have co-produced and co-directed 'In Your Dreams - Stevie Nicks,' a documentary portrait of the illusive Nicks as they embark on a musical journey to write and record the critically acclaimed album 'In Your Dreams.' The film will premiere at the 35th International Hamptons Film Festival on Sunday, October 7th and at the 20th annual Mill Valley Film Festival on Friday, October 12th which has already sold out.
