Canadian Opera Company General Director Alexander Neef is pleased to announce that Music Director Johannes Debus has signed a new contract with the COC that extends his tenure as Music Director through the 2016/2017 season. Debus joined the COC at the start of the 2009/2010 season with a contract that would have him with the company through 2012/2013.

Flat Rock Playhouse is teaming with veteran Broadway composer Frank Wildhorn (For The Glory, The Scarlet Pimpernel, Wonderland) and lyricist Jack Murphy on a brand new 'jazz age' musical set in Asheville, North Carolina. Loosely based on F. Scott Fitzgerald, the hot Jazz Age novelist who wrote 'This Side of Paradise,' 'The Beautiful and Damned,' 'The Great Gatsby,' 'Tender Is the Night' and 'The Last Tycoon,' and his wife, Zelda. On Sunday, October 28 at 11am, Boston roots musician and family entertainer Alastair Moock will play a special Halloween show for kids and families at 92Y Tribeca as part of the club's Bring Your Own Kid series. Alastair will be accompanied by his band and will be performing a number of "slightly scary" tunes as well as favorites from his own repertoire. 92Y Tribeca is located at 200 Hudson St. Tickets are $15 and free for kids under 2. Jeff Dunham will bring his all new "Disorderly Conduct Tour" to Joe Louis Arena on Friday, December 28 at 8 p.m. The worldwide tour will offer fans a brand new show packed with more laughs than ever before and the return of Dunham's famed troupe of sidekicks to include Walter the Grumpy Retiree, Achmed the Dead Terrorist, the beer-fueled redneck Bubba J, the manic purple creature Peanut, the spicy pepper from south of the border Jose Jalapeño, and Peanut's own ventriloquist dummy Little Jeff, a mini-version of the ringmaster himself.

Jeannie Berlin, Robert Foxworth, Justin Long, Robin Weigert and JoBeth Williams are set for Center Theatre Group's production of the Tony-nominated "Other Desert Cities" by Jon Robin Baitz. Segerstrom Center for the Arts and STOMP present a live performance for deaf and hard of hearing (DHH) children as well as hearing children at Taft Elementary. Students from third through sixth grade classes will assemble in the school's outdoor performance area and share in this exciting experience as STOMPers use this opportunity to showcase how vibrations create sound waves. As some deaf or hard of hearing students may not be able to hear all the sounds being created, they can feel the vibrations and rhythm. Following the performance, there will be a Q&A session with cast members from STOMP.

Alley Theatre Artistic Director Gregory Boyd announces the performance schedule for Death of a Salesman. Performances open officially Thursday, October 11 and run through Sunday, October 28 on the Hubbard Stage. As previously announced Glenn Fleshler joins the cast of the Alley Theatre's Death of a Salesman asWilly Loman. He was the understudy for Willy Loman in the recent Broadway production. Hennepin Theatre Trust today announced a new lineup of 2012-13 events for The Scene, our Broadway and performing arts group for patrons in their 20s and 30s. The Scene will kick off the new season with a launch event set for Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012 including a 6 p.m. pre-show cocktail hour at Rosa Mexicano and discounted tickets to Disney's Beauty and the Beast at the Orpheum Theatre, the classic musical that begins the Trust's 2012/13 Broadway Season.

Galli Theater performs children's favorite fairy tale LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD this October in Manhattan. Kids and parents will be able to enjoy an unprecedented, interactive spin on the beloved story. Kids are invited to interact with the actors during the show. Play begins at 2 p.m. every weekend in October, and is followed by a 45-minute acting workshop for the kids.
