The Alvin Ailey Dance Foundation today announced that after an international search to identify a new Executive Director, the Board of Trustees has chosen to continue the Ailey tradition of passing on leadership from one generation of the organization to the next by naming Bennett Rink to the post. Mr. Rink, Ailey's current Senior Director of Development and External Affairs, will succeed Sharon Gersten Luckman, who hired him in 1994, and who announced at the beginning of 2012 that she would step aside as Executive Director at the beginning of 2013.

Announced in early September, San Leandro based Curtain Call Performing Arts, INC. (CCPA), and California Conservatory Theatre (CCT), merged and joined forces with a shared vision to continue to provide exceptional live theatre to San Leandro and the greater San Francisco Bay Area. After a summer of negotiations the two companies have moved forward under the CCPA name.

Classic Stage Company's new production of Anton Chekhov's IVANOV, starring Ethan Hawke, Joely Richardson and Juliet Rylance, and directed by Austin Pendleton, begins previews Wednesday, October 17 at CSC (136 East 13th Street), prior to an official opening Sunday, November 4. IVANOV has extended its run by popular demand through Sunday, December 9. California Musical Theatre Artistic Director Glenn Casale was named Artist of the Year at the Arts & Business Council of Sacramento's 25th annual Prelude to the Season awards event, which took place Oct. 12 at the Woodlake Hotel in Sacramento. Nashville Symphony Board Chairman Ed Goodrich announced today that the Nashville Symphony Association Board of Directors and Giancarlo Guerrero have reached an agreement extending Maestro Guerrero's contract through 2020.
