Lookingglass Theatre Extends METAMORPHOSES Through 1/6November 2, 2012Lookingglass Theatre Company announces the second extension of Metamorphoses, based on the myths of Ovid from a translation by David Slavitt, written and directed by Ensemble Member Mary Zimmerman, and produced in association with Arena Stage. The revival production, coinciding with the 10th Anniversary of the Broadway production, is now playing through the holidays at Lookingglass Theatre Company, located inside Chicago's historic Water Tower Water Works, 821 N. Arts Council Announces Honorary Chair for Celebration of the Arts in Howard CountyNovember 2, 2012The Howard County Arts Council has announced that Dr. Kathleen Hetherington, President of Howard Community College, will serve as Honorary Chair of the 2013 Celebration of the Arts in Howard County. The Celebration gala, presented by the Arts Council, will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2013 from 6:00 - 10:00 p.m. at the Peter and Elizabeth Horowitz Visual and Performing Arts Center at Howard Community College. Dr. Hetherington will make opening remarks in the Smith Theatre during the 90-minute program, which features the Rising Star Competition.

Sarasota Youth Opera to Present LITTLE NEMO IN SLUMBERLAND, 11/10 & 11November 2, 2012Sarasota Youth Opera will present the world premiere of a brand new work, Little Nemo in Slumberland, with music by Daron Hagen and words by J.D. McClatchy, commissioned by the Sarasota Opera Association. This will mark the Sarasota Youth Opera and Sarasota Opera Association's 5th commission since the programs inception in 1984. The child principal roles will be performed by members of the Sarasota Youth Opera program and the adult principal roles will be performed by members of the Sarasota Opera Apprentice and Studio Artists Program. In addition, singers and performers from Booker High School, Out of Door Academy and Sailor Circus will help to round out the cast making for a total of 107 Sarasota young people on the stage of the Sarasota Opera House.

Museum of the Moving Image Announces THE ART OF RISE OF THE GUARDIANS ExhibitionNovember 2, 2012Museum of the Moving Image, in collaboration with DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc. (Nasdaq: DWA), will present The Art of Rise of the Guardians, an entertaining and revelatory exhibition of behind-the-scenes production design materials, including original artwork, and video sequences that trace the creative process and craftsmanship behind the studio's remarkable new film, which arrives in theaters on November 21. On view from November 10, 2012, through March 3, 2013, the exhibition explores the unique collaborative process involving artists, designers, writers, and an enormous filmmaking team.
