During the 2013 winter season, New York City Ballet will launch a new initiative called the New York City Ballet Art Series. The series will feature annual collaborations with contemporary visual artists who will create original works inspired by NYCB that will be exhibited at the Company's home at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center.

Matrix Theatre Company presents its inaugural Detroit Dreaming Film Festival (DDFF) Friday, January 25 running through Sunday, January 27. Each of the 11 featured films focus on Detroit, and through a diversity of techniques and subject matter, they showcase the diversity, struggles and triumphs of the city.

The Phoenix Theatre of Indianapolis has announced Next to Normal - book and lyrics by Brian Yorkey and music by Tom Kitt - as their next production. The Tony Award-winning and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical Next to Normal will open Wednesday, January 30, and run through Sunday, February 24, 2013, on the Livia and Stephen Russell Stage.

Signature Theatre (James Houghton, Founding Artistic Director; Erika Mallin, Executive Director) is pleased to announce that tickets go on sale and rehearsals began today for the world premiere of OLD HATS, created and performed by Tony Award winners Bill Irwin and David Shiner, with music by and featuring Nellie McKay, and directed by Tina Landau. All tickets for the initial run of the production are $25 as part of the Signature Ticket Initiative: A Generation of Access. The production runs February 12 through March 31, 2013, with a March 4 opening night in The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues).

The 2013 North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival is kicking off its 13th year with a loaded line-up of local and national rising comics. The festival officially kicks off Wednesday, Jan 30 at MotorCo.in Durham with an 8 p.m. show featuring a line-up of local comics. Then the festival moves to multiple performances at DSI Comedy Theater and Local 506 in Chapel Hill through Sunday. Tickets to festival shows cost $10 or $14 and are available online at www.nccomedyarts.com. MotorCo is located at 723 Rigsbee Ave in Durham. Due to popular demand, Performance Space 122 (PS122) and the New Ohio Theatre extend the world premiere of Seagull (Thinking of you) until January 26. From Tina Satter and her company Half Straddle, Seagull (Thinking of you) is a heartfelt work, both comedic and dark, that uses Chekhov's The Seagull as a jumping off point to reconsider the success and failure of performance and love.

PIPPIN is noted for many Broadway standards including "Corner of the Sky," "Magic To Do," "l Guess I'll Miss The Man," "Glory," "No Time at All," "Morning Glow," and "Love Song."

Considered by many to be one of the greatest plays of the 20th century, A Raisin in the Sun, Lorraine Hansberry's powerful drama, will open Friday, February 1 (8PM) at Palm Beach Dramaworks' Don & Ann Brown Theatre (201 Clematis Street). The production will play a strictly limited engagement through March 3, with specially priced preview performances on January 30 & 31. Artistic Director Michael Kahn and the Shakespeare Theatre Company announce casting for the title characters of The Hero/Traitor Repertory, the first in the Clarice Smith Repertory Series.
