After an acclaimed run at the 2012 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, writer/performer Peter Michael Marino returns to NYC with his comic autopsy on his $6 million West End musical fiasco Desperately Seeking Susan in DESPERATELY SEEKING THE EXIT. Directed by Obie Award winner John Clancy, performances of this solo tell-all comedy run January 17 & 20 at The Triple Crown Underground.

As part of the official kick off to National Blood Donor Month, the cast of Evil Dead: The Musical at V Theater inside Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino hosted a blood drive to benefit United Blood Services. Over the course of four hours, 53 total units were collected with 41 successful donations, more than doubling the original expectations for the event. All donors received a free pair of tickets to Evil Dead: The Musical and a comic book from MaximuM Comics.

Thalia's Umbrella, a new professional theater company, announces their first production: the dark comedy A Day in the Death of Joe Egg, by Peter Nichols. The Houston Symphony will honor the great Louis Armstrong and his musical masterpieces in a concert January 18, 19 and 20. Joining the orchestra will be Byron Stripling, a prominent figure in the modern American jazz scene. Stripling was chosen to portray Louis Armstrong himself in Broadway's Satchmo, a musical based on the life of the musician and inspired by Armstrong's musical style.

Comedian Jeff Garlin will be headlining the Laughing Skull Lounge in Atlanta during the weekend of January 18th, the weekend that was originally scheduled for Dave Foley, who had to reschedule due to landing a series pilot.

Celebration Theatre announced today changes to their management team. Disney's THE LION KING triumphantly returns to Bass Concert Hall in Austin from Wednesday, January 16 through Sunday, February 10. A special KIDS' NIGHT will occur on Thursday, January 17 with pre-show activities beginning at 6:30pm in the Bass Concert Hall lobby before the 8:00pm performance. Children will have the opportunity to make masks and receive autographs from LION KING cast members.
