The Midtown International Theatre Festival (MITF) seeks submissions for its fourteenth season, running from July 15 - August 4, 2013. The deadline for submissions has been extended to Sunday February 17, 2013.

MANILOW ON BROADWAY, Barry Manilow's new concert show at the St. James Theatre, has released the following statement.

In its repositioning as Virginia's Pro-Am resident theater, The Generic Theater launches an 8-week Acting Studio Program as a response to a growing desire from area actors who seek training. The program is an initiative to support The Generic's visionary pillar of provide access to theater education and training. Forthcoming initiatives will include programs for internships, apprenticeships and master classes. Last year, Generic Theater for Kids was launched as a response to a need for affordable acting classes for children ages 5 through 18. The program has seen tremendous growth. Since 2010, The Generic has organized and facilitated an annual theater conference where over 200 area citizens participated in workshops, seminars and panels on theater. It has attracted like-minded people who believe in Norfolk's presence and impact in the American theater landscape. The Generic offers affordable and scholarship incentives for prospective individuals to be able to participate with its programs.

Austin Lyric Opera (ALO) has announced its 2013-14 Season, which will include the company premiere of two operatic masterpieces, and the presentation of one perennial favorite. The season opens this November with Don Carlo, Verdi's epic tale of unrequited love and strained family allegiances. ALO will be offering Don Carlo for the first time in the company's history, in celebration of the bicentennial of Verdi's birth. The season continues in January and February 2014 with Tosca, Puccini's volatile drama, returning to the Austin stage for the first time since 2004. The charming and romantic The Elixir of Love brings the season to a close in May 2014, and is another ALO first.

After popular demand, The Dutch Apple will bring back comedies to their stage with Run For Your Wife opening February 14. Run For Your Wife is a British comedy written by the "master of farce" Ray Cooney, and is said to be one of the funniest and most popular of all his plays.

Westport Country Playhouse has received a $20,000 grant from the Fairfield County Community Foundation for general operating support of the non-profit organization's 2013 season. The nationally recognized professional theater serves an estimated annual audience of 60,000.

Signature Theatre has announced that casting is confirmed and tickets go on sale Tuesday, January 29 for THE MOUND BUILDERS written by Lanford Wilson and directed by Jo Bonney. All tickets for the initial run of the production are $25 as part of the Signature Ticket Initiative: A Generation of Access. The production runs February 26 through April 7, 2013 with a March 17 opening night in The Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues).

Based on an overwhelming response to the recently announced Fleetwood Mac Live 2013 North American tour, which has already sold over 325,000 tickets, the band announced today that they will be adding 13 shows. The newly announced leg of the tour includes second shows in Chicago, Boston and Los Angeles, new stops in Cleveland, Wantagh, Charlotte, Des Moines, Spokane, Portland, Sacramento, Albany, as well as, Montreal, Canada. On Monday 4th March, world-renowned Australian "fingerstyle" acoustic guitarist Tommy Emmanuel, CGP, and Britain'sMartin Taylor, MBE, will release their highly anticipated collaboration album "The Colonel & The Governor" on Mesa/Bluemoon Recordings.

Repertory Dance Theatre (RDT) and the Fort Douglas Museum are honoring Utah women in the military with a three-night concert event, April 11-13, 2013. Women of Valor…In the Spirit of Service commemorates the 150th Anniversary of Fort Douglas and pays tribute to women of have served selflessly in the community and in the military.

Canadian Stage presents Haptic, Holistic Strata, Sayonara and I, Worker in a one-week festival of Japanese theatre and dance as part of Spotlight Japan. NYC-based, indie-pop duo MS MR has announced that their debut album, Second Hand Rapture, will be released May 14th in the U.S. on Columbia Records. Lizzy Plapinger (MS) and Max Hershenow (MR) began their musical collaboration in December of 2010, recording in secrecy, at Hershenow's home studio in Brooklyn, NY over the course of 2011.
