Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Talent Development Program (TDP) student musician Myrtil Mitanga and TDP alumnus Xavier Foley are semi-finalists in the prestigious 2013 Sphinx Competition. The Tony Award-winning Oregon Shakespeare Festival's 2013 preview performances begin February 15, and the season will open Friday night, February 22 with Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew, directed by David Ivers. New York Theatre Barn (New York, NY) is partnering with Encore Theater Company (Dayton, OH) to produce an out-of-town developmental production in Dayton of Speargrove Presents, the new musical about two families in a North Texas town who struggle with a community battle ignited by a controversial high school production of the musical Rent, in Summer 2013.

On Monday, January 28, the Arnold & Marie Schwartz Gallery Met will open George Condo'sJesters, presented in conjunction with the new Metropolitan Opera production of Rigoletto. Condo has created 9 original ink-on-paper drawings of jesters for the show, which will be on display through May 11. The Met's new production of Rigoletto, Verdi's opera about a court jester whose life unravels after his insults go too far, will premiere January 28.

Sydney Opera House and Melbourne Recital Centre today announced the premiere visit to Australia of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra (MCO). Regarded as one of the most artistically interesting and successful ensembles on the international classical music scene, the MCO gives two performances at Sydney Opera House on 10 and 11 June followed by two performances at Melbourne Recital Centre on 12 and 13 June.

THE JOHN MILLER QUARTET PLUS 2 will debut at The Cutting Room on Friday, February 1 for two shows after an unprecedented 21 week-run at the New York nightclub 54 Below. The Young People's Chorus of New York City celebrates the 25th anniversary of its founding by Artistic Director Francisco J.
