HBO is developing a comedy series with Jason Kim and Greta Lee about Los Angeles' Koreatown neighborhood, according to Variety.

He feels their pain. He gives them hope.  He defends the nerds.  To millions of his young fans, John Green is a towering figure and a beacon of truth. He does it all in a series of best-selling novels, YouTube “vlogs” and podcasts that have captured the attention of their generation.   But what many of those fans don't know is that Green has his own pain.  He struggles every day with mental illness.  Green, whose young adult bestsellers have become blockbuster films, appears on 60 MINUTES in a profile by Jon Wertheim to be broadcast Sunday, Oct. 7 (7:00-8:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Actress Maggie Q will receive the World Tourism Humanitarian Award on November 5, 2018, the opening day of World Travel Market (WTM) London, at the ExCel Centre. Maggie Q will be presented the award as part of the annual World Tourism Awards ceremony sponsored by Corinthia Hotels, The New York Times, United Airlines and host sponsor Reed Travel Exhibitions. Peter Greenberg, CBS News Travel Editor and world renowned travel expert, will host the Award presentation.

Five Boroughs Music Festival (5BMF) and GEMAS (Gotham Early Music Scene / Americas Society) present Corónica, a collective of musicians from Canada, Colombia, Cuba, Argentina and the US, in An Empire of Silver and Gold on Monday, November 5, 2018 at 7:00pm at St. Ignatius of Antioch Episcopal Church.  

Guitar Mash has announced its artist line-up for the 7th Annual Urban Campfire at City Winery on Sunday, November 18th from 12:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The Urban Campfire is a unique and immersive musical experience where artists break down the wall between the stage and the house, and invite the audience to perform along with them.  The theme for this year's event is “Songs for Change” which focuses on the power of music to generate awareness and bring people together.

Terry Matalas, the showrunner for '12 Monkeys' on Syfy, has sold a drama to CBS, according to The Hollywood Reporter. 

American Composers Orchestra (ACO) will open its 2018-2019 season with a concert honoring Phenomenal Women presented by Carnegie Hall in Zankel Hall on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 7:30pm. The performance, conducted by ACO Music Director George Manahan, will feature the world premiere of Valerie Coleman's Phenomenal Women performed by the Imani Winds with ACO; as well as the world premiere of Alex Temple's Three Principles of Noir with singer Meaghan Burke, director Amber Treadway, and costumes by Storm Garner. Grammy and Grawemeyer Award-winning composer Joan Tower's Chamber Dance from 2006, which treats the orchestra as a chamber ensemble, completes the program.

Lifetime has greenlit two new original movies for 2019, Victoria Gotti: My Father's Daughter and a remake of the cult-classic, Death of a Cheerleader. Victoria Gotti: My Father's Daughter is co-written, narrated and executive produced by Gotti herself. Chelsea Frei (Sideswiped) takes the title role while Maurice Benard (General Hospital) stars as mob boss, John Gotti. Death of a Cheerleader features original star Emmy-nominee Kellie Martin (Haley Dean Mysteries) returning for the updated movie, inspired by the shocking murder of a popular cheerleader by a classmate. Aubrey Peeples (Nashville) and Sarah Dugdale (The Bad Seed) also star.

The Apollo Theater announced today that Grammy nominated singer/songwriter Alice Smith will headline the Apollo's WOW – Women of the World Festival. The performance, featuring new music from her upcoming Full LP Mystery set to release at the end of 2018, is a part of the 3rd annual gathering of artists, activists, and leaders from around the globe at the Apollo Theater beginning March 12 and running through March 17, 2019.  Smith will bring her intoxicating mix of R&B, pop and rock along with a special musical tribute to the world famous Apollo Theater stage on Friday, March 15, 2019 at 8pm.

Smithsonian Channel is set to honor American veterans this November with two premieres offering unique perspectives and new insights on crucial aspects of the Vietnam War. One-hour special GUN TRUCKS OF VIETNAM premieres Sunday, November 11 at 9 p.m. ET/PT and explores the ingenuity of American servicemen and the ongoing legacy of one of America's fiercest fighting units. The following Sunday, November 18 at 9 p.m. ET/PT, THE LOST TAPES returns with TET OFFENSIVE, bringing to life a defining moment of the Vietnam War. Both premieres feature rare audio and exclusive never-before-televised 8mm films – some shot directly by soldiers during combat.

MIKE JUDGE PRESENTS: TALES FROM THE TOUR BUS, chronicling the exploits of legendary music artists, begins its eight-episode second season FRIDAY, NOV. 2 (10:00-10:30 p.m. ET/PT), exclusively on CINEMAX. While the first season of the show spotlighted country musicians, the new season focuses on funk music greats, including George Clinton, Rick James, James Brown and Bootsy Collins. Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and Parliament-Funkadelic founder Clinton serves as consulting producer and provides original music for the series.

Netflix has secured the rights to international bestselling author Blake Crouch's book “Recursion” for Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beer's Shondaland and Matt Reeves' 6th & Idaho for a feature film as well as a television universe. “Recursion” will be published by Crown on June 11, 2019.

RLJE Films (NASDAQ: RLJE), has acquired all North American rights to the upcoming adventure film The Man Who Killed Hitler and Then The Bigfoot.  Written by Robert D. Krzykowski , who makes his directorial debut, the film stars Sam Elliott (A Star is Born, The Hero), Aidan Turner (“Poldark”), Ron Livingston (Office Space, Tully), Caitlin FitzGerald (“Masters of Sex”), Larry Miller (Pretty Woman) and Ellar Coltrane (Boyhood). RLJE Films plans to release the film nationally in theaters, VOD and Digital HD in the first quarter of 2019. 

All The Bright Places, the adaptation of the YA bestselling novel of the same name, starring Elle Fanning and Justice Smith starts principal photography in Cleveland, Ohio today.

Ahead of its season one finale, AMC today announced that it has renewed its critically acclaimed modern fable “Lodge 49” for a second season. Wyatt Russell (“Black Mirror,” “Everybody Wants Some”) will reprise his starring role as Sean “Dud” Dudley. Creator, writer and executive producer Jim Gavin returns as does Peter Ocko (“Pushing Daisies,” “The Office”) as executive producer and showrunner. Additional executive producers include Paul Giamatti (“Billions,” Sideways, “Outsiders,” “Hoke”), Dan Carey (“Outsiders,” “Hoke,” John Dies at the End, All Is Bright), and Jeff Freilich (“Halt and Catch Fire,” “Grace and Frankie”). The second season of “Lodge 49” will go into production and will air on AMC in 2019 with 10 episodes. “Lodge 49” is an AMC Studios production.
