MTV today expanded its global live events business into the U.S. with the acquisition of SnowGlobe Music Festival, the nation's premier outdoor New Year's Eve music festival. The annual, three-day event takes place December 29-31 in South Lake Tahoe, California and welcomes more than 20,000 fans each day with a mix of musical performances, live action sports, and interactive art exhibitions. Artists from Kendrick Lamar to Post Malone to Zedd and many more have performed at SnowGlobe, which is highlighted by its iconic countdown party at midnight on New Year's Eve. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Next year marks the 50th anniversary of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees ZZ Top's 1969 formation in the Houston area of Texas. The blues-rock stalwarts are set to launch an extensive summer tour in Europe in connection with the celebration of that unparalleled milestone. ZZ Top will perform at the SSE Arena Wembley on 12 July 2019. Tickets go on-sale on 16 November at 10am at www.livenation.co.uk. 

Country Thunder Wisconsin roars back into Twin Lakes this July 18-21, 2019. As Billboard announced today, festival organizers added several main stage acts while teasing a yet-to-be-announced major headliner who will join yet another stellar line-up for the Mid-West's favorite country music festival.

OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network and Hearst Magazines announced today that Oprah Winfrey's in-depth conversation with Michelle Obama about her new memoir Becoming will air as a primetime special “Oprah Winfrey Presents:  Becoming Michelle Obama” on Thursday, November 15 at 8:00 PT/ET on OWN, with an extended unedited version available on “Oprah's SuperSoul Conversations” podcast starting the same day, with part two available on November 19. In addition, the full interview will be streamed on Oprah's Facebook on Sunday, November 18 at 11:00 am ET/PT. Woody and the rest of the toys are back for an all-new adventure in “Toy Story 4,” welcoming new friends to Bonnie's room, including a reluctant new toy called Forky. “Like most people, I assumed that 'Toy Story 3' was the end of the story,” said director Josh Cooley. “And it was the end of Woody's story with Andy. But just like in life, every ending is a new beginning. Woody now being in a new room, with new toys, and a new kid, was something we have never seen before. The questions of what that would be like became the beginning of an entertaining story worth exploring.”

Rising LA-based band Bay Ledges—led by songwriter and producer Zach Hurd—will release their new EP, In Waves, on November 30 via S-Curve Records. BET Networks announces the acquisition of eight-part drama “Carl Weber's The Family Business,” based on The New York Times best-selling author's most popular family crime drama novel starring acclaimed-actor and Executive Produccer Ernie Hudson. Originally developed and produced as an indie film franchise, BET has licensed the content to air this dynamic production in an explosive way. Meet the Duncans, a prominent family from Jamaica, Queens living fast and luxurious. By day, they're an upstanding family; by night, they live a dangerous secret life. The patriarch of the family, L.C. Duncan (Hudson), is at the age when he's starting to think about retirement and has to decide which of his children should take over his thriving exotic car dealership. The Duncans quickly come under siege from some of the top politicians, mafia and drug cartels in the city. The Duncans will have to stick together or die separately.  The highly anticipated television event “Carl Weber's The Family Business,” makes its debut on Tuesday, November 13 at 9 PM ET/PT on BET.
