Fox has ordered four drama pilots to series for the 2019-2020 season. The lineup includes cop/serial killer drama Prodigal Son, starring Tom Payne and Michael Sheen; John Slattery's AI drama neXt; police drama Deputy, starring Stephen Dorff; and the Annie Weisman/Jason Katims sister drama, based on an Australian format.

Netflix has closed a first look deal with Dark Horse Entertainment. Under the new deal, Dark Horse Entertainment will give Netflix a first look at its IP for both film and TV and has started exploring future projects. Dark Horse Entertainment's Mike Richardson, Keith Goldberg and Paul Schwake signed on to produce.

AspireTV has launched an exciting new partnership with screenwriter and filmmaker Nakia Stephens and her screenwriting label Damn Write Originals (“DWO”). The network has commissioned short film content from Stephens and DWO as part of their commitment to be a platform for fresh faces and new voices. The first short film Tre is debuting at the Bentonville Film Festival, the American Black Film Festival and will premiere on air this Father's Day, June 15th, as a sneak-peak of Season 2 of AspireTV's successful Tuesday lineup, Urban Indie Film Block. The programming block showcases the best of urban short films by tomorrow's next great filmmakers and includes films that depict love stories, romantic comedies, dramas, action and sci-fi. In 2020, AspireTV will debut one new short film a month from Damn Write Originals.

Last week, Columbus, Ohio trio Caamp announced their new album, By and By out July 26th on Mom + Pop Music and shared their first single, “Penny, Heads Up.” Today, they announce a full North American tour. After a summer of festival appearances, they'll kick things off on October 15th in Phoenix, AZ at the Crescent Ballroom. Highlights include The Fonda in Los Angeles, Thalia Hall in Chicago, a two-night stint at the Basement East in Nashville and they will round out the tour with Brooklyn Steel in New York on December 10th.
