FOX Sports Films has released the trailer for its newest MAGNIFY series film “Q Ball.”  The documentary chronicles the lives of incarcerated basketball players at San Quentin State Prison and is executive produced by Golden State Warriors All-Star Kevin Durant's Thirty Five Media, in conjunction with HEIST and Hunting Lane Films.

Electric Entertainment announced today they have acquired the thriller film ALONE for worldwide distribution (except CIS).The Los Angeles-based media company is releasing ALONE domestically as well as taking on its international sales. Electric Entertainment, headed by Dean Devlin, Marc Roskin and Rachel Olschan, will introduce and screen the film at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival.

Last night, The Strokes played a special set to a capacity crowd at The Wiltern in Los Angeles. The evening show was a hometown benefit for The Center in Hollywood and Food Cycle LA. The Strokes partnered with The Center, a community dedicated to ending isolation and homelessness in LA and Food Cycle LA, an organization focused on eliminating hunger and reducing food waste. The evening efforts raised over $250,000 with all proceeds to be shared directly.

Nomadic Pictures and Dynamic Television announced today that Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica), Richard Harmon (The 100), Nicole Munoz (Defiance), Keeya King (Jigsaw) and pro-wrestler Big Show (WWE/SmackDown) have joined the cast of SYFY's action-horror series Van Helsing. Helfer will play Dracula while the other new characters will be unveiled throughout the new season. Currently in production, the 13-episode drama returns for its fourth season this fall.

CBS was again the most-watched network during week 33 of the 2018-2019 broadcast season according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Sunday, May 12. CBS has now been #1 in viewers for 11 consecutive weeks and 16 out of the last 17.

Telemundo announced the star-studded cast for upcoming political-thriller “Preso No. 1,” led by Erik Hayser, alongside Arturo Peniche in his return to Telemundo after more than a decade, Alejandra Ambrosi, Mariana Seoane, Alejandro de la Madrid and Angélica Celaya, with special appearances by Damián Alcázar, Roberto Sosa, Luis Felipe Tovar and Emilio Guerrero.

Nickelodeon and the LEGO Group today announced the all-new high-stakes CG-animated comedy series LEGO(R) City Adventures will premiere on Saturday, June 22, at 11:30 a.m. (ET/PT). A rollercoaster ride of fantastic fun, the series (10 episodes) depicts the funny, smart, and dynamic slices of life within the sprawling and diverse LEGO City community, following the absurd and action-packed adventures of its residents. Premieres continue Saturdays at 11:30 a.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon.

NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt is the #1 most-watched newscast for the week of May 6, winning the key A25-54 and A18-49 demos, according to Nielsen Media Research. Nightly News also posts the biggest year-over-year growth and is #1 season-to-date in both demos.

TODAY was the number-one morning show last week topping “Good Morning America” in the key demo A25-54. The win marks 176 consecutive weeks in first place, TODAY's best demo streak in more than six years. TODAY won in total viewers Monday, Wednesday and Thursday and came within just 29,000 viewers of GMA for the week.

The Walt Disney Company (NYSE: DIS) and Comcast Corporation (NASDAQ: CMCSA) announced today that Disney will assume full operational control of Hulu, effective immediately, in return for Disney and Comcast entering into a “put/call” agreement regarding NBCUniversal's 33% ownership interest in Hulu. Under the put/call agreement, as early as January 2024, Comcast can require Disney to buy NBCUniversal's interest in Hulu and Disney can require NBCUniversal to sell that interest to Disney for its fair market value at that future time. Hulu's fair market value will be assessed by independent experts but Disney has guaranteed a sale price for Comcast that represents a minimum total equity value of Hulu at that time of $27.5 billion.
