Gerry Beckley, the gifted singer, songwriter, performer and co-founder of legendary band, America, is set to release a new solo album, Five Mile Road, on September 20, 2019 via Blue Elan Records.  First single, “Life Lessons” debuts today.

Robin Alice, a duo comprised of Kelley Jakle and Jeff 'Horti' Hortillosa, has released their debut EP Here and There. The album's five tracks defy genre, spanning vintage R&B, pop, electrified folk, and Americana, unified by Jakle's powerful vocal range and Hortillosa's skilled musicianship. Recorded in Austin-area studios like the Bubble and Waterslide, Here and There finds Robin Alice working alongside Grammy-winning engineer Chris 'Frenchie' Smith. The five-song record also shines a light on the diversity and melodic chops at the core of the band's sound, blurring the lines between genres that don't often rub shoulders. There are horn arrangements, dream-pop influences, breakup songs, and plenty of coed harmonies. There's plenty of sharply-written lyrical insight, too, with songs like 'Greed' attacking America's consumerist obsession. 'When we were writing songs,' Hortillosa says, 'we didn't think of any limitations. We just allowed ourselves to be strange and creative. It was no-holds-barred approach. I'm from a bluegrass/Americana background, and Kelley is from more of a pop/rock background... so we worked together and found our own middle ground.'

Tony Nominated actor, Rory O'Malley (The Book of Mormon), fresh off of his run as King George in both the Broadway and West Coast productions of Hamilton, is starring as Brian Dooley in Lifetime's new series American Princess.  The show is executive produced by Jenji Kohan (Orange is the New Black, Weeds, and GLOW) and follows a runaway bride as she joins a Renaissance Fair after her wedding goes awry. In the series, Rory plays the Faire's beloved Shakespeare.

Netflix has ordered Prank Encounters, an epic hidden-camera prank show hosted by Gaten Matarazzo (Stranger Things). Each episode of this terrifying and hilarious prank show takes two complete strangers who each think they're starting their first day at a new job. It's business as usual until their paths collide and these part-time jobs turn into full-time nightmares.

Following a break-out premiere season, Spectrum Originals has greenlit a second season for their debut series, "L.A.'s Finest." The announcement was made today by series stars and executive producers Gabrielle Union and Jessica Alba at Opening Night of the 59th Monte Carlo Television Festival.

Indie rock veterans Luxury return today with their fifth record, Trophies, now streaming and available for purchase on CD and LP. Luxury formed in the mid-'90s in the small southern town of Toccoa, Georgia (home of James Brown 'The Godfather of Soul') and were brash and swaggering from the outset with an ever-present flamboyance from lead singer Lee Bozeman. Like Fugazi fronted by Morrissey, they became known for their live shows, which always felt close to imploding under their own frantic energy. However, tragedy struck while touring around their 1995 debut full-length, Amazing and Thank You, as the band suffered a catastrophic wreck that resulted in three broken necks, an almost crippled Lee, and a wide-eyed new regard for life. In the wake of recovery, the members began to focus their energies intensely on reflecting upon life as it is lived: a journey that eventually led to Lee Bozeman, guitarist Jamey Bozeman, and bassist Chris Foley becoming Eastern Orthodox priests. Trophies is Luxury's first release with three-fifths of the band ordained, and with it Bozeman finally begins to answer a question he posed with their debut, “So, what do you expect from life?”

New York by way of Los Angeles producer Ben Shirken aka Beshken is happy to share his debut album Aisle of Palm out today via his new electronic focused record label 29 Speedway. Since sharing a handful of singles since January, including 'Cursed' and the Highsnobiety premiered 'Passion,' Beshken has shared the stage with breakout bands like Men I Trust and Crumb along with electronic artists such as Sporting Life and Macintosh Plus.

Lin-Manuel Miranda took to Twitter this morning to announce the last bit of casting news for the upcoming In the Heights film. Miranda announced that will be playing 'Piraguero' in the movie!

Today UK band Another Sky release their Life Was Coming In Through The Blinds EP on Missing Piece Records / Fiction. After releasing their debut EP Forget Yourself just over a year ago, the band earned raves and the momentum propelled them to a spot on Later With Jools Holland.

Katie Toupin releases her debut solo album Magnetic Moves today across all music platforms via Symphonic Distribution. Magnetic Moves is Toupin's first full-length project since leaving acclaimed band Houndmouth in 2016. The L.A. based singer-songwriter also stars in the 'Magnetic Moves' music video released last month. 

Singer and actor Jet Jurgensmeyer has announced that his highly anticipated self-titled debut album will be released on June 21, 2019. Adding to the excitement, the rising star has revealed the cover art and tracklisting. The album features two songs (“Real World” and “Just Another Moment Away”) written by pop star Sabrina Carpenter as well as Jurgensmeyer's latest single “This Is Your Moment.” It was recorded at the Legends Studio in Nashville, TN and produced by Butch Baker.

The Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival (FLIFF) will travel to Grand Isle Resort & Spa on Great Exuma, Bahamas for an enjoyable weekend of film showings, taking place July 4 – 7 to celebrate the arts. The FLIFF Exuma Film Festival is Pigs of Paradise's third stop in the world tour, which began in Cannes in May and concludes with London in September. 

CBS announced today the premiere dates for its 2019-2020 fall season that begins Monday, Sept. 23. CBS' official premiere week will feature the strategic launch of five new shows on two nights (Monday and Thursday), and 15 returning series. Three returning series will launch the following week.

Amazon Studios announced today that Lili Reinhart (Riverdale) will star in writer/director Richard Tanne's coming-of-age drama and romance film, Chemical Hearts. Based on the beloved novel Our Chemical Hearts by Krystal Sutherland, the film is currently shooting in New Jersey. Chemical Hearts is an Amazon Original produced for Amazon Prime Video. Producers are Page Fifty-Four's Alex Saks (The Florida Project, Book Club) and Tanne, and the film is executive produced by Jamin O'Brien (Eighth Grade) and Reinhart, in her first executive producer role.
