Nickelodeon has greenlit a new high-stakes competition series, Top Elf, and ordered a full series pickup of The Substitute, it was announced today by Rob Bagshaw, Executive Vice President, Unscripted Content. Top Elf, which begins production in September on five one-hour episodes, features kid contestants with extraordinary building and design skills competing for the coveted title of Top Elf.

Television's biggest guessing game is back, but before Season Two officially begins, a special preview, THE MASKED SINGER: SUPER SNEAK PEEK, will air Sunday, Sept. 15 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.  Series host Nick Cannon and panelists Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger and Robin Thicke reflect on the fierce and swift impact the show has had on pop culture since making its debut, and Season One winner and global music sensation T-Pain returns to THE MASKED SINGER stage for a special appearance. Eclectic tropical-pop band HIRIE will embark on an extensive U.S. headline tour in the fall in support of their upcoming third album Dreamer, which will be released via Megaforce Records on September 13, 2019. MASTERPIECE on PBS has released the trailer for World on Fire, an adrenalized, emotionally gripping and resonant World War II drama that follows the intertwining fates of ordinary people in five countries as they grapple with the effects of the war on their everyday lives.

Sky Studios and HBO announce that Academy Award, Golden Globe and BAFTA nominated actress Naomie Harris (Moonlight, Skyfall), will join the cast of The Third Day, alongside Jude Law.

Ahead of the release of his debut album Before You Begin next  month, Sequoyah Murray has shared the otherworldly video for new single 'Blue Jays'. Written as an attempt to capture an 'abstract sense of beauty', as he puts it, Murray's alluring baritone glides over sub-zero synthesisers, before the track erupts into hypnotic polyrhythms. Directed by close friend and filmmaker Lev Omelchenko and performed by Sequoyah and his younger brother, the video for the track tells the story of a winged figure who appears to a young boy in a dream and then again in reality, awakening the dancer within. 

RETRO REPORT on PBS, a new one-hour magazine format series hosted by journalist Celeste Headlee and artist Masud Olufani and featuring New Yorker humorist Andy Borowitz, premieres Monday and Tuesday, October 7-8, 9:00-10:00 p.m. ET (check local listings) on PBS, pbs.org and the PBS App. Presented by Georgia Public Broadcasting and produced by Retro Report, a non-profit organization whose mission is to arm the public with a complete picture of today's most important stories, the series offers viewers a fresh perspective on current headlines, revealing their unknown — and often surprising — connections to the past. With the fourth season of Good Bones attracting more than 16.9 million total viewers, HGTV has picked up 13 fresh episodes of the hit series starring mother/daughter home renovation duo Mina Starsiak Hawk and Karen E Laine. At the end of season four, Good Bones ranked as a top 5 cable program among upscale P25-54 and upscale W25-54 in the Tuesday 9-10 p.m. ET/PT timeslot and also was a top 10 cable program among P25-54 and W25-54 in the timeslot. The new episodes are slated to premiere in summer 2020.

HBO has renewed the sketch comedy series A BLACK LADY SKETCH SHOW for a second season, it was announced today by Amy Gravitt, executive vice president, HBO Programming.

 Comedy Central today ordered a 10-episode second season of hit series South Side, the aspirational, scripted comedy set in and around the working class neighborhood of Englewood on the South Side of Chicago.

Academy Award-winning director Paolo Sorrentino returns with The New Pope, his second original series set in the world of the modern papacy.

Academy Award®-winning producer and screenwriter Mark Boal, best known for penning the screenplays for “Zero Dark Thirty” and “The Hurt Locker,” released by Lionsgate's Summit Entertainment label, is set to adapt Mitchell Zuckoff's Harper Collins book “Fall and Rise: The Story of 9/11” for ABC. As previously announced, the network is developing a limited series in 2021 inspired by the bestselling book to commemorate and honor the 20th anniversary of the events of September 11. The series will be produced by Lionsgate and 3 Arts Entertainment, and executive produced by Erwin Stoff and Richard Abate of 3 Arts as well as Mitchell Zuckoff. Boal will also executive produce. 

Major League Soccer's championship match will return to ABC for the first time since 2008 when ESPN presents the 2019 MLS Cup on SUNDAY, NOV. 10 (3:00-5:30 p.m. EST), on ABC. The match will also be streamed live on both the ESPN and ABC apps.
