ABC Entertainment President Karey Burke announced today that the network has picked up “The Brides,” a new drama from executive producer/writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (“Riverdale,” “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”), Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television to pilot.  Maggie Kiley (“American Horror Story,” “Riverdale,” upcoming “Katy Keene”) is set to direct.

HGTV is set to take on an ambitious mission—and it will be the most impressive and massive renovation ever—a takeover to makeover an ENTIRE town. Ever since Ben and Erin Napier of the hit series Home Town helped transform Laurel, Mississippi, fans from small towns across America have flooded HGTV with requests to take on the reno of their home town. Now they will get their shot at a life-changing, whole-town overhaul. Through Tuesday, Feb 4, anyone who loves their own home town can log on to HGTVHomeTownTakeover.com to show, tell and sell the network on why their small town, with its historic architecture and classic main street, should be the one town featured in the upcoming event series Home Town Takeover. With Ben and Erin leading the charge, the selected town, with a population less than 40,000, will witness the rehab of multiple individual family homes and the revitalization of public spaces, such as parks, local diners and recreation centers. And, the town will be featured in Home Town Takeover (fka Home Town Rescue), a six-episode series slated to premiere on HGTV in 2021.

ABC today announced the explosive series finale of “How to Get Away with Murder” will air THURSDAY, MAY 14 (10:01-11:00 p.m. EDT). The critically acclaimed series, which will return for its six-episode killer farewell event on THURSDAY, APRIL 2, is currently in its sixth and final season. 

ABC and the Television Academy today announced the return of the “72nd Emmy® Awards” to ABC, airing LIVE coast to coast from the Microsoft Theater at L.A. Live in Los Angeles on SUNDAY, SEPT. 20 (8:00-11:00 p.m. EDT/5:00-8:00 p.m. PDT). Host(s) and producers for the telecast will be announced at a later date. 

ABC will air a special live episode of top-rated comedy “The Conners” the night of the New Hampshire primary, TUESDAY, FEB. 11 (8:00-8:30 p.m. EST). The cast will perform the episode live for both the East and West coast broadcasts. ABC News coverage of the first-in-the-nation New Hampshire primary will be incorporated into the story in real time as the results roll in during the evening.

Pandora and SiriusXM announced today that they are kicking off football's biggest weekend with the SiriusXM & Pandora Opening Drive Super Concert Series, two free exclusive concerts on back-to-back nights in Miami before the Big Game.  GRAMMY® Award-winning duo The Chainsmokers will perform Wednesday, January 29, and GRAMMY® Award-nominated breakout star Lizzo will perform Thursday, January 30, both at The Fillmore Miami Beach at The Jackie Gleason Theater. 

Today, the Iowa-born, Nashville-based singer and songwriter Hailey Whitters announced her highly anticipated new album The Dream will be released on February 28, 2020. GLAAD, the world's largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) media advocacy organization, announced today the nominees for the 31st Annual GLAAD Media Awards. The GLAAD Media Awards honor media for fair, accurate, and inclusive representations of LGBTQ people and issues. The International Cinematographers Guild (ICG, IATSE Local 600) Publicists have announced the nominees for the Maxwell Weinberg Award for Motion Picture Publicity Campaign to be presented at the  57th Annual ICG Publicists Awards on Friday, February 7, 2020, at The Beverly Hilton Hotel. The award honors active members working on motion pictures whose achievements in publicity and promotion during the previous calendar year are deemed outstanding. More than 800 industry leaders are expected to attend this year's luncheon, which traditionally occurs the week leading up to the Academy Awards®. The Recording Academy® has confirmed its first slate of performers for the 62nd Annual GRAMMY Awards®. BBC One announces a magical new commission, Fantastic Beasts: A Natural History (w/t). Produced in partnership with Warner Bros. and London's Natural History Museum and presented by Stephen Fry, the documentary will explore the origins and stories of mythical creatures and the fantastical beasts from J.K. Rowling's stories and explore their history and connections with animals roaming the planet today.

Tame Impala (Kevin Parker) will release his fourth studio album, The Slow Rush on February 14 (Interscope), and today he releases the single, “Lost In Yesterday.” “Lost In Yesterday,” is a deep dive into the addictive nature of nostalgia propelled by loopy, driving disco. An examination of time's distorting effect on memories, on “Lost In Yesterday,” Parker realizes that even the most disdainful times can take on a rosy tinge the further they recede in the rearview.
