Members of SAG-AFTRA today voted to ratify the 2018 SAG-AFTRA National Code of Fair Practice for Network Television Broadcasting (Network Television Code). The vote was 93 percent in favor of the new contract.

TNT has ordered The Angel of Darkness, a new limited series based on the sequel to best-selling author Caleb Carr's The Alienist. A huge critical and ratings success, The Alienist is 2018's #1 new cable series in 18-49, having reached more than 50 million people across multiple platforms. It also earned six Emmy(R) Award nominations, including Outstanding Limited Series. The Alienist's lead cast including Daniel Brühl (Rush), Luke Evans (The Girl on the Train) and Dakota Fanning (American Pastoral) will return for The Angel of Darkness in an all-new storyline.

USA Network announced today that its new music showcase series REAL COUNTRY has added country stars Trace Adkins, Wynonna Judd and Big & Rich as celebrity guests. The network also announced a special appearance by the beloved country icon Willie Nelson, and set Graham Bunn - most recently from Southern California's #1 country station, Go Country 105 - as host.

After Boise Boys delivered solid ratings in its freshman season, HGTV has ordered an additional 13 one-hour episodes of the series. During its first season, Boise Boys helped the network consistently rank as the #1 cable network among upscale women 25-54 in the Thursday 11 p.m. ET/PT timeslot. The series follows best friends Luke Caldwell, a designer, and Clint Robertson, a licensed contractor, as they revitalize Boise's most dilapidated properties into resale-ready homes. The new season is slated to premiere in late Spring 2019.

The Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, passed away today, August 16, in her Detroit home after a long battle with pancreatic cancer, according to the Associated Press. She was 76 years old.
