Stage and screen star Antonio Banderas has confirmed his intention to star in the Broadway revival of ZORBA, and hopes to see it open in September, 2011.

CHINGLISH is about an American businessman arrives in a bustling Chinese province looking to score a lucrative contact for his family's sign-making firm. He soon finds that the complexities of such a venture far outstrip the expected differences in language, customs and manners - and calls into questions even the most basic assumptions of human conduct.

Next summer, after Tony Award adrenaline has subsided and before the excitement of the new season sets in, Broadway now has something to celebrate: the first ever Broadway cruise that will embark to Bermuda from the Big Apple.

Joe's Pub, the beloved live performance venue at The Public Theater and a vital part of New York City's cultural landscape, reopened last week, October 4, after a three month hiatus while undergoing an extensive interior redesign and renovation, spearheaded by original designer and Joe's Pub, LLC partner Serge Becker. Serving more than 100,000 audience members annually, Joe's Pub first opened in 1998 and presents more than 800 performances a year. WENN News reports that the 2002 Keira Knightley film, Bend It Like Beckham, is currently being adapted for the stage, helmed by the film's director, Gurinder Chadha. The new musical has both West End and Broadway aspirations, according to the report. Says Chadha: 'The script is ready to go. It's going to be on both the West End and Broadway. We are currently deciding who is the right person to write the score, so it's at a really exciting stage.'

The Royal Court's Olivier Award winning new play, COCK by Mike Bartlett, directed by James Macdonald, will open Off-Broadway at a theatre to be announced in Spring, 2012.

The new musical Peter & I opens tonight, October 6 at the Chernuchin Theater at the American Theater of Actors as part of The Araca Project, a new program created by The Araca Group to support emerging theatre artists. The production will run through October 16, 2011.

Roundabout Theatre Company has announced Cheyenne Jackson (Xanadu), Tony Award winner Jane Krakowski (Nine), three-time Tony nominee Kelli O'Hara (The Pajama Game), Josh Radnor ('How I Met Your Mother'), Tony nominee Michael McGrath (Memphis), Tony nominee Rory O'Malley (The Book of Mormon) and four-time Tony nominee Victor Garber (Present Laughter) leading an all-star cast in a one-night only performance of SHE LOVES ME. The romantic musical comedy features a book by Joe Masteroff (Cabaret), music by Jerry Bock and lyrics by Sheldon Harnick (Fiddler on the Roof).

Jeremy Irvine, who will soon be seen on the big screen in Steven Speilberg's War Horse, will lead a new film adaptation of Charles Dicken's Great Expectations, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He will join a cast that includes Ralph Fiennes, Helena Bonham Carter, Sally Hawkins (Mrs. Warren's Profession on Broadway), Robbie Coltrane, Ewen Bremner, Jason Flemyng, Tamzin Outhwaite, David Walliams and Holliday Grainger. Filming will begin in the UK on October 10.
