Today, the Lucille Lortel Awards Administration Committee and the Lucille Lortel Foundation announce the recipient of the 2010 Lifetime Achievement Award: Daryl Roth. This honor is conferred to a theatre professional known for their dedication to Off-Broadway. On May 2, 2010, Daryl Roth will join the recipients in the 18 other Lortel Award categories on stage for the 25th Annual Lucille Lortel Awards starting at 8 PM EST at Terminal 5 in New York City.

The New York Times is reporting that Shrek vet Christopher Sieber will star as sex columnist Dan Savage in The New Group's production of The Kid, a new musical based on Dan Savage's book The Kid: What Happened After My Boyfriend and I Decided to Go Get Pregnant. The production will run as the the third show of The New Group's 2009 - 2010 season, however, no exact production dates have been announced. Additional cast and creative team announcements are also forthcoming.

On February 8, at 8pm EST the Bravo! Network will air 'Des McAnuff: A Life in Stages' documentary tribute to the Multi-time Tony-winning director and stage producer as part of the Great Canadian Bios series. Stage and screen star Jeremy Irons will star in Showtime's new historical drama The Borgias. The new series, replacing Showtime's The Tudors, will premiere in early 2011. Creator Neil Jordan executive produces alongside Michael Hirst who produced The Tudors. The Tudors will end its four year run this year. Jordan will reportedly helm the first two episodes.

Diane Paulus' landmark inaugural season as Artistic Director of American Repertory Theater (the A.R.T.) will come to a close with the world premiere of Johnny Baseball, The New Red Sox Musical (formerly called Red Sox Nation). According to published reports, Local One, The International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Moving Picture Technicians, Artists and Allied Crafts of the United States, Its Territories and Canada, AFL-CIO, CLC (IATSE), has entered into a new three year contract with the Broadway League. The new contract, which went into effect on January 1, 2010 and will be valid through December 31, 2010, applies to all IATSE personnel who travel with live entertainment productions.
