The Broadway League, the national trade organization for the commercial theatre industry, announced the 2010 'League Educator Apple Awards' recipients. The awards acknowledge the efforts of local schools and community groups that support programs relating to Broadway or touring Broadway shows, promoting further development of theatre education.

Kyle Dean Massey, currently starring in the hit Broadway musical Next to Normal, recently did a fashion photo shoot in Out Magazine, showing off spring's latest trends. Click here to see the shots! Massey came to Next to Normal directly from the Broadway company of Wicked. He has also appeared on Broadway in Xanadu and off-Broadway in Altar Boyz. He has toured with Wicked and 42nd Street and has appeared on TV in the series 'Cupid.'

The York Theatre Company is currently running David Zellnik and Joseph Zellnik's musical, Yank! A World War II Love Story, through April 4, 2010. (The production opened February 24). Last night, stage and screen legend Ben Vereen took in the production and posed for a photo with the cast.

Australian actor/muscian David Campbell will be releasing his new album, 'On Broadway' on April 2, 2010, in Australia the star has announced on his Facebook page. The disc was recorded at East West Studios in Los Angeles in January 2010, and produced by leading musical director Rob Fisher and veteran arranger Bill Elliott. The release will coincide with a tie-in television documentary David Campbell On Broadway airing on arts channel STVDIO on April 3, 2010.

The event will be moderated by Lou Harry, Arts & Entertainment Writer for Indianapolis Business Journal and take place on the Phoenix Theatre Mainstage. This one-on-one is being held in conjunction with both theatres producing plays by Dietz this spring. Indiana Repertory Theatre (IRT) is producing Becky's New Car from March 23 through April 11, 2010 and Phoenix Theatre is producing Yankee Tavern from April 8 through May 1, 2010.

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, the cast album for LOVE NEVER DIES premiered on the UK National charts at Number 10, the production announced today. Of those international markets where the album has been released it has also charted well, such as in Greece (Number 1), Taiwan (Number 14), New Zealand (Number 8) and Denmark (Number 15). Today, Billboard reports that the LOVE NEVER DIES album is the Number 1 selling cast album of the week, beating out staples Wicked and Jersey Boys in the top spot.

Tonight, March 18, Dame Edna and Michael Feinstein open their new Broadway collaboration, ALL ABOUT ME, at the new Henry Miller's Theatre. Previews began Friday, February 19.

The L.A. Times has confirmed that members of the GLEE cast will be appearing on The Oprah Winfrey show on April 7, 2010, two days after the cast performs at the annual White House Easter Egg Roll. Oprah will interview Jane Lynch, Lea Michele, Cory Monteith and Matthew Morrison, in addition to creator Ryan Murphy, who are so far scheduled to attend. The episode will, naturally, feature a performance. Oprah airs at 4:00pm EST on ABC.

The Celebrate Broadway Preservation Fund, Inc. under the direction of The Broadway League, announced today the recipient of its second Schoenfeld Vision for Arts in Education Award: James M. Nederlander, Chairman of The Nederlander Organization.
