Yesterday at 88 Madison Avenue, the cast of Pippin celebrated the show's new partnership with Carlton Hotel with a live performance, nail art painting provided by Caravan Stylist Studio and circus-inspired refreshments provided by the Carlton hotel. The Carlton hotel's new PIPPIN the Musical Package will be available starting January, running through March 2014. The package includes overnight luxury accommodations, tickets to PIPPIN, cocktails at restaurant Millesime and a CD soundtrack from the show.

Barnes & Noble just celebrated the new Ghostlight Recordscast recording MARRY ME A LITTLE - featuring songs by Stephen Sondheim - with a special in-store performance and CD signing yesterday, January 13. The event included performances by the show's stars Lauren Molina and Jason Tam, who were joined on piano by Musical Director John Bell. Earlier today, the NY/NJ Super Bowl Host Committee, National Football League, Verizon, and Broadway Green Alliance united in Duffy Square to collect and safely recycle Electronic Waste. Cast members from AVENUE Q, JERSEY BOYS, KINKY BOOTS, THE LION KING, MOTOWN: THE MUSICAL, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, and WICKED were all in attendance to discard electronic devices such as computers, televisions, or cell phones. SPIDER-MAN: TURN OFF THE DARK, the Broadway spectacular that defied odds and expectations to conquer New York, played its final performance at the Foxwoods Theatre yesterday, Jan. 4, 2014, after being seen by approximately two million fans, and 1,268 performances. Since it began previews on November 28, 2010, and even before they bagan, the show's high and lows were in the news, making it one of the most talked about shows in theater history. Broadway's new musical Big Fish will play its final performance on Sunday, December 29, 2013. This is your last chance to see two-time Tony Award winner Norbert Leo Butz (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Catch Me If You Can), Tony Award nominee Kate Baldwin (Giant, Finian's Rainbow) and Bobby Steggert (Giant, Ragtime) onstage at the Neil Simon Theatre (250 West 52nd Street). 50 uniformed members of the USO attended the show earlier this week and you can check out photos of them with the cast below!

Basquiat, a new musical about the life and times of 80's art-star, Jean Michele Basquiat just premiered a special concert version of the show at Joe's Publast night, December 16th. The performers included Eric LaJuan Summers (Motown: The Musical) as well as Lena Hall (Kinky Boots) and Felicia Finley(Mama Mia, The Wedding Singer). Other performers include Ken Robinson (Memphis), Julius Thomas III (Motown: The Musical) Chad Carstarphen (In the Heights), Benjamin Mapp, Jimmy Lambert, Roger DeWitt, Eddie Varley andNikki Kimbrough (A Night with Janis Joplin). The New Group continues its 2013-2014 season with the world premiere of Intimacy, a new play by Thomas Bradshaw. Directed by Scott Elliott, Intimacy features David Anzuelo, Austin Cauldwell, Ella Dershowitz, Laura Esterman, Daniel Gerroll, Dea Julien and Keith Randolph Smith. A limited Off-Broadway engagement plays January 14 - March 8 at The New Group @ Theatre Row (The Acorn Theatre / 410 West 42nd Street), with Official Opening Night set for Wednesday, January 29 at 7:00pm. The new documentary Marvin Hamlisch: What He Did For Love is the American Masters series' Season 27 finale, premiering nationally Friday, December 27, 2013, 9-10:30 p.m. on PBS (check local listings) and available on DVD January 14, 2014 via PBS Distribution. The Fred Ebb Foundation (Mitchell Bernard, Trustee) in association with the Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) presented the ninth annual Fred Ebb Award for aspiring musical theatre songwriters to Michael Kooman and Christopher Dimond, last night. The award, named in honor of the late award-winning lyricist Fred Ebb, was presented by Joel Grey at a by-invitation-only ceremony in the Penthouse Lounge of The American Airlines Theater.
