Since the inception of The Three Tenors on July 7, 1990 in Rome at the Baths of Caracalla on the eve of the FIFA World Cup Final, Plácido Domingo, José Carreras and the one and onlyLuciano Pavarotti; have opened the doors for other great voices, such as the Irish Tenors, The Canadian Tenors and many other talented and renowned performers. Now three of New York's premier voices, Andy Cooney,Daniel RodriguezandMichael Amante have joined together to honor the city of New York and our great nation as the one and only 'New York Tenors'.

The Town Hall, New York's landmark theatre and concert venue conclude the Sixth Annual Summer Broadway Festival, with Liz Callaway's new show, Even Stephen (with Jason Danieley, Joshua Henry and Norm Lewis) last night, July 30th. The Dark Shadows Weekend 2012 was held this year in Tarrytown, NY on July 28 & 29, 2012. The weekend of events included Dark Shadows Day At Collinwood. This was held on Saturday July 28 at the historic Lyndhurst Estate. This is the site used for the filming of the two Dark Shadows movies based on the original TV series-House of Dark Shadows and Night of Dark Shadows. Both of these movies are to be re-released in the fall on DVD and Blue Ray in conjunction with the release of the Tim Burton/Johnny Depp movie of this year's-Dark Shadows.

The Town Hall, New York's landmark theatre and concert venue continued the 6th Annual Summer Broadway Festival, with Broadway's Rising Stars last night, July 23rd at 8pm. The next generation of Broadway performers were chosen during auditions throughout the spring and come from theatrical institutions across the country, including AMDA, CAP21, Steinhardt, Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, Carnegie Mellon, Marymount and The New School. These young future performers then made their auspicious debut on The Town Hall stage in what has now become regarded as the country's national showcase. Off-Broadway theater company Playwrights Horizons celebrated its annual Spring Gala yesterday evening, June 11th at the event space 583 Park Avenue. Titled "The Highest Standard", the evening celebrated its five Pulitzer Prize-winning productions and honor the creators of these memorable works for the theater. The honorees were James Lapine (Sunday in the Park with George), Bruce Norris (Clybourne Park), Stephen Sondheim (Sunday in the Park with George), Alfred Uhry (Driving Miss Daisy), Wendy Wasserstein (The Heidi Chronicles) and Doug Wright (I Am My Own Wife). More than 20 years after its premiere, Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens have re-invented their first musical with Tony-nominated director Thomas Kail (In the Heights, Lombardi, Magic/Bird), choreographer Bradley Rapier (So You Think You Can Dance, Jesus Christ Superstar) and new orchestrations by music director Lynne Shankel (Disney's Beauty and the Beast, Altar Boyz). Once On This Island just opened last night, June 3, and runs through Sunday, June 24, 2012.

The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, along with the City of New York and the United States Navy, celebrates the 25th annual Fleet Week, now through May 28, 2012. Fleet Week is America's premier tribute and "thank you" to the men and women who serve in the armed forces. The Town Hall's critically acclaimed Broadway by the Year's® 12th Season continued this week with The Broadway Musicals of 1975 on Monday, May 14th. 1975 was a year that brought us famous shows by musical theater icons including Marvin Hamlisch, (A Chorus Line), John Kander and Fred Ebb (Chicago), and Richard O'Brien (The Rocky Horror Show), among others.
