NYMF's 'Play it Cool'

The New York Musical Theater Festival may be spawning something extraordinarily special with their production of PLAY IT COOL. The show, with a book by Martin Casella and Larry Dean Harris, features music by Philip Swan and lyrics by Mark Winkler. Is set in a 1920's Hollywood jazz club catering to a gay clientele and is owned my Mary (Sally Mayes), who has put all her life's savings into it.

Mary Zimmerman Returns to Berkley Rep With 'Arabian Nights'

Next month, Tony Award-winning director Mary Zimmerman returns to Berkeley Repertory Theatre with an alluring adaptation of The Arabian Nights. This is Zimmerman's sixth trip to Berkeley Rep, and for the first time she works her magic on the intimate Thrust Stage. The Arabian Nights runs from November 13 through January 4 with the official press night on November 19.

Duffy Square TKTS Booth Will Accept Credit Cards

For years, the public's number one request for improved service at Theatre Development Fund's TKTS Discount Booths has been the addition of credit cards as a method of payment. When TDF's new booth opens 'under the red glass steps' in the newly revitalized Father Duffy Square (Broadway and 47th Street, Manhattan) on Thursday, October 16 at 3pm, ticket buyers will be able to make their purchases using major credit cards, in addition to cash and travelers checks, for same-day tickets to Broadway, Off Broadway, music and dance productions.

Starring Todd Weeks and Jessica Dickey, this production will begin performances on Tuesday, October 7 at The Clurman Theatre / Theatre Row, 410 West 42nd Street, between 9th and 10th Avenues. Opening night is scheduled for Sunday, October 19. The Fourposter will run through November 22.

Westport Country Playhouse (Joanne Woodward and Anne Keefe, artistic directors, Jodi Schoenbrun Carter, managing director) will stage John Steinbeck's classic drama, 'Of Mice and Men,' directed by Mark Lamos, October 7 through November 1. Steinbeck won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1962 and the Pulitzer Prize for his 1939 novel 'The Grapes of Wrath.'
