Bernadette Peters will perform a special benefit concert for Chimes, a Baltimore-based not for profit organization serving more than l2,000 people with disabilities. The concert is Saturday night, November lst, 2008 at Meyerhoff Symphony Hall at 7:30 p.m.

In honor of its 5th Anniversary on Broadway on October 30, the blockbuster musical Wicked will host several special events and promotions throughout the month of October. Highlights include THE YELLOW BRICK ROAD NOT TAKEN, a one-night-only benefit performance featuring songs and scenes cut from early drafts of the musical, as well as two of New York's most recognizable landmarks going green in honor of our anniversary: on October 27, the Empire State Building will glow green for the night and on October 30, Playbill's trademark yellow banner will be specially printed green, the first time in the publication's history that it has altered its masthead.

The Guthrie is proud to announce complete casting for its 34th production of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol on the Wurtele Thrust Stage. Adapted by Barbara Field and again under the direction of Gary Gisselman, A Christmas Carol will feature actor Raye Birk, who returns to play Ebenezer Scrooge for the fourth consecutive year.

The eagerly anticipated production of Arthur Miller's ALL MY SONS starring John Lithgow, Dianne Wiest, Patrick Wilson, and Katie Holmes, directed by Simon McBurney, will open on Thursday October 16th 2008 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre (236 West 45th Street). Performances began on September 18th, 2008.

The New York Musical Theater Festival concluded its fifth season on October 5th having presented 241 performances over the course of 21 days. A record-breaking 25,000 people, selling the festival to 87.5% of capacity, attended the festival. Over 75% of productions had sold-out performances, and 11 productions extended their runs to accommodate demand.

The National Black Arts Festival (NBAF) has been selected to take part in Leading for the Future: Innovative Support for Artistic Excellence, a groundbreaking new arts initiative created by Nonprofit Finance Fund (NFF) and funded by the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation.

Due to popular demand, the critically hailed MILLION DOLLAR will move to the Apollo Theater (2540 N. Lincoln Ave. Chicago), immediately following the conclusion of its limited engagement at the Goodman's Owen Theatre. Performances in the Owen continue through Oct. 26. Preview performances at the Apollo Theater begin Friday, Oct. 31, with the official opening scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 6 at 7:30 PM. Seattle Repertory Theatre has cancelled their production of the Broadway bound Waiting for Godot due to the loss of a financial backer. Actor Bill Irwin was set to star in production, scheduled to open on January 15th and run through February 14th. The theater has replaced the production with Athol Fugard's Road to Mecca, directed by Leigh Silverman.

MC Squared Productions presents the New York premiere of THE FUNERALOGUES, a site-specific look at eulogies and the people who deliver them. Conceived and performed by Stacy Mayer, written by playwright Robert Charles Gompers, and directed by Molly Marinik, this unique theatrical experience has found its ultimate home at All Souls Chapel on New Yorks' Upper East Side. Workshopped at Emerging Artists Theatre's One Woman Standing Festival in 2007, previews begin November 7 with opening set for Saturday, November 15.

The Denver Center Theatre Company's fourth Colorado New Play Summit is continuing to receive heightened national attention due to the success of new plays premiered at last season's event.

This fall Seattle Shakespeare Company offers the rare opportunity to experience both parts of Shakespeare's epic Henry IV. Shakespeare's Henry IV parts 1 and 2 have been adapted into one emotionally packed drama by Daikin Matthews. Artistic Director Stephanie Shine directs Henry IV with David Pichette playing King Henry, Tim Gouran as the playboy prince Hal, and Richard Ziman as the funny and complex Falstaff. With a low-priced preview on October 23, Henry IV opens on Friday, October 24. The production runs through November 16 at the Center House Theatre at Seattle Center.

Marty Geiger is appearing this week in his new cabaret show called SUMMER BABY. In the 70 minute show directed by MAC Award Winner Lina Koutrakos, Marty looks back and remembers summers past in words and music, including quite a few Broadway songs. Paul Greenwood is the Musical Director.

The Program in Educational Theatre at New York University will present an original interview theatre production, The Class Project, from October 24 through November 2 at the Black Box Theatre, 82 Washington Square East.

TAPE, a new play will play from Friday, October 17th through Sunday, October 19th at the 78th Street Theatre Lab (236 W 78th Street). The play is written by Stephen Belber and produced by Justin Boccitto and The Group Theatre Too, LLC.
