THE ANGEL NEXT DOOR, the world premiere comedy now playing at North Coast Repertory Theatre through October 8th is like an angel food cake; light, fluffy, and leaves you feeling like you had a sweet treat at the end.

THE UNTITLED UNAUTHORIZED HUNTER S. THOMPSON MUSICAL brings the rebellious, idealistic, and often intoxicated writer to life with a talented cast at the La Jolla Playhouse through October 8th.

AUGUST: OSGAE COUNTY by Backyard Renaissance, which is playing through September 16th offers some breathtaking performances in this comedy-drama about the strong-willed Weston family who have all chosen paths away from each other until a family crisis brings them all back. 

As promised in the opening of CABARET, now playing at The Old Globe through October 15th, “In here life is beautiful” and that is certainly true. This CABARET sparkles and shines with sequins and striking performances that bring a new interpretation to the classic musical.

It’s showtime for the ghost with the most at Broadway San Diego as BEETLEJUICE has descended upon the San Diego Civic Theatre through August 20th. This musical, inspired by the hit movie, brings familiar characters and new adventures from this world and the Netherworld, with ghosts, demons, and even a sandworm or two. 

Sitcom shenanigans and hilarious hijinks abound in THE MERRY WIVES OF WINDSOR, now playing at the outdoor theatre at The Old Globe through September 3rd.

EVITA, like the person whose life inspired it, Eva Perón, is an iconic musical that is forever being re-invented to bring new life to the subject.  Cygnet Theatre brings its version of EVITA to the stage with a charismatic cast, high-flying vocals, and engaging choreography through October 1st.

BOTTLESHOCK! THE MUSICAL at CCAE Theatricals brings the beauty of Napa Valley and the tale of the underdog 1970s winery that took Paris and the world of wine by storm in the summer of 1976. This original musical has some beautifully sung numbers, an abundance of heart, and also some wine-tasting options if you really want to feel immersive.  BOTTLESHOCK! THE MUSICAL is running through July 23rd at California Center for the Arts in Escondido. 

You’re going to want to grab a ticket to ride this train in PASSENGERS by the Montreal group 7 Fingers at the Old Globe.  This show is a dreamy, creative, and acrobatic adventure set during the time on a train, where time moves differently as you are both in motion and limbo at the same time.  PASSENGERS is playing at The Old Globe through July 30th.

UNDERGROUND brings an immersive, world-premiere musical inspired by the discography of Ben Folds to the stage. Set in a local pub, the show is a lot of fun as the audiences get to enjoy the games, drinks, and an atmosphere where everybody has a story and working in hospitality is never boring. UNDERGROUND is playing at Coronado Playhouse through July 30th.

Musical theatre royalty is in town as the women of SIX, bring attitude, dance moves, and vocals to blow the roof off of the San Diego Civic Theatre through July 9th. This musical is sure to have you cheering in your seats as the six wives of England’s Henry VIII teach you more about their lives than you probably learned in school and have you dancing in your seat.

SHARON, now playing at Cygnet Theatre through July 2nd is a wonderfully acted world, smart, and suspenseful premiere that asks the question of family, and truth, and is full of dark humor. 

TWELFTH NIGHT is one of Shakespeare’s classic comedies, and the current production at The Olde Globe playing through July 9th invites the audience to a music-centered and lighthearted version that is lively, lyrical, and full of laughter!
