The Casting Society of America has announced more New York celebrity presenters for this year's 24th Annual Artios Awards, honoring excellence in casting. As previously announced, Broadway veteran and comedienne Julie Halston will act as Mistress of Ceremonies, and producer Thomas Schumacher, President of Disney Theatrical Group, will receive the special ‘New York Apple Award' at the New York ceremony.

Downtown diva Kate Pazakis headlines her first Zipper Factory show, Kate Pazakis: Unzipped! December 9th, 2008 at 10:30pm. This brand new show uses a mix of pop, rock, country and musical theatre to reveal the woman behind the powerhouse belt. The evening also gives the audience a chance to witness the live recording of Kate's debut album.

The New York Post's PAGE SIX is reporting that James Nederlander is producing a musical version of Michael Jackson's video for his hit song ‘THRILLER'. Not much else is known other than a production is being planned.

Due to overwhelming demand, 'Liza's at the Palace....' the new show starring Liza Minnelli will play an additional two weeks of performances at Broadway's Palace Theatre (Broadway & 47th Street). With an opening set for December 3rd (6:30PM), Miss Minnelli will bring her unmatchable magic to Broadway for an engagement now scheduled to play through December 28th---surpassing the originally announced closing date of December 14th. Included in the extension, is a special holiday matinee at 3PM on December 24th.

High School Musical 3:Senior Year had an impressive $15M weekend for a new total of $61.8M, holding the top spot once again at the box office. The film will be debuting a 'sing- along' version in select markets including Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, San Francisco, and Philadelphia on Friday, November 7.

Composer/lyricist Stephen Schwartz and Kerry Ellis, current star of the Broadway smash WICKED, in full costume as the show's green heroine, Elphaba, The Wicked Witch of The West, lit the Empire State Building green on Monday, October 27th. The building glowed WICKED green from dusk to midnight on Monday in honor of WICKED's 5th Anniversary Celebration.

Nick Adams is playing the role of 'Rocky' at the Lyric Theatre in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The show runs through November 1st, 2008. Adams, 25, recently starred in Broadway's A Chorus Line as Larry -- opposite Mario Lopez -- and soon will be recognized for his upcoming 2(x)ist underwear campaign.

Sean Mathias will direct Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart in Samuel Beckett's Waiting for Godot which is his first production as Artistic Director of the 2009 Theatre Royal Haymarket Company. Waiting for Godot will tour the UK prior to its opening in London in April.

The New York Musical Theater Festival today announced that Raul Esparza, currently starring in Speed the Plow, will perform at the Fifth Season Awards Gala honoring Robyn Goodman; Goodman produced tick...tick...BOOM which launched Esparza's career in New York.
