Strouse's Nicholaw Directed MINSKY'S Set For Ahmanson 1/21-3/1December 3, 2008Minsky's is the second new musical playing the Ahmanson this season, boasting a book by Bob Martin and direction and choreography by Casey Nicholaw, who both crafted the U.S. premiere of the musical The Drowsy Chaperone at the Ahmanson in 2005. Composer Charles Strouse (Bye Bye Birdie, Annie) will join lyricist Susan Birkenhead (Triumph of Love) on the musical, which begins performances January 21 through March 1, 2009.
Mason, Lazar, De Shields, Weiss and Levieva Join Irons and Allen in IMPRESSIONISM December 3, 2008The New York Times is reporting that Andre De Shields, Aaron Lazar, Margarita Levieva, Marsha Mason, and Michael T. Weiss will join Tony Award winners Joan Allen and Jeremy Irons in the world premiere of Impressionism, a new American play by Michael Jacobs. The production, which will be directed by Tony Award-winner Jack O'Brien, will play the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre, reports Times.
